If SEC stadiums sold beer...what would be the result in the stands?

I'm going to shock people right off the bat. I don't think it would mean any significant difference in crowd behavior at most schools. At some places, it might even mean an improvement.

To be clear, this would only affect general seats outside of the premium seating...specifically club and suites...as alcohol consumption would be unaffected in those areas, since they already get unrestricted access.

So stadiums with a large percentage of premium seating...BDS, Reynolds Razorback, Tiger Stadium, Neyland Stadium, and Kyle Field...would probably see the least amount of difference in fan behavior.

From my experience, most LSU fans in general seating areas would only drink beer after the hard liquor in their flasks ran out. So I'm going to say Tiger Stadium would be one of the least affected.

So I'd say the stadiums with lower amounts of premium seating, and large areas of bench seating would see the most significant amounts of change in behavior.

That crazy chick swore up and down she wasn't drunk. Whether you believe that or not is up to you.

People wouldn't need to feel the need to consume mass quantities directly prior to going in the gates in order to maintain the buzz, they also wouldn't need to sneak in hard liquor as well.

For student sections, probably wouldn't affect much - I brought a flask every game because I was interested in getting trashed. Now, I would probably get less drunk while spending more money in general admission, which sounds like something the school would want.

Well, maybe outside of LSU fans. Hard liquor is their goto regardless.

You bring up a point I hadn't considered...what affect the relative ease of access to concessions would play in the results.

As an LSU fan I know Tiger Stadium is among the best, if not the best, in the amount of time it takes to get to and from your seat from a bathroom break or concessions run.

Maybe its just me, but Sept and some of the Oct games are just too damn hot to drink heavily at.

Save that for cool weather and indoor games.

Yep the time I would spend pissing out all the huge beers I would buy I would spend half the time out of the stands.

I'm curious to see what the new bathrooms and concessions will look like this year. The stadium is amazing but I hope they sized the bathrooms right

But do you think that behavior would be consistent as time went on? I could see an initial spike in beer sales, followed by a slight drop off as fans go used to it being available.
