Depends on whether Mark Emmert uses his position with the NCAA to cover and protect the next coach like he does Saban.

Otherwise Bammer will get the death penalty within a year for their brazen cheating.

Alabama is a top 3 football program. Alabama is the SEC. That will never change.

Haven't you heard CNS has attention deficit...

quote:

“When I was growing up in West Virginia, there was no diagnosis for attention deficit,” said Saban, “so I probably have it. If I’m not doing something, I’m not busy, I’m shaking my leg – Terry punches me in church for shaking my leg, she punches me in church because when I’m standing up I’m rocking like this – so I would probably say that I have some deficit in some way that has never been diagnosed.

Saban will be at Alabama for a long time....Rest of the SEC fricked.

It would be similar to Miami back when Butch Davis left. They might win a championship quick after but the recruiting will fall off enough to drop them within a few years until they bring a long another really good coach. The big issue will be what standards will they hold for any other coach within recent memory?

it wasn't til Saban was hired in 2007 that the Tide fully overcame mediocrity

1982-2007: 25 years

9 10-win seasons
3 SEC Championships
5 SEC West titles
1 National Championship

That's most teams' entire history.

And 2000-2006 is the exception rather than the rule for Alabama.

Alabama averages 3 SEC Championships and 1 National Championship per decade.

There's no reason Alabama won't maintain its average.

i don't think Saban's run at Alabama is all about Saban and Alabama. The other SEC teams not been as good much of Saban's tenure as in the past. i would think at some point some of the other teams will get more competitive.

Alabama's run happened during the strongest period in SEC history. No conference has even come close to the SEC's succeeds during that time.

4 different SEC teams won national titles. No other conference comes close.

During Saban's 10 years:

Taking out Alabama

3 years other SEC teams won national championships.
2 more years other SEC teams played for national championships.

Half of Saban's tenure (or 5years) at Alabama, other SEC teams won or played for national championships.

Also during that time period no other conference won more bowl games or put more players in the NFL.

fact SEC team won titles doesn't mean the SEC was best conference overall. teams win titles, not conferences.

keep in mind, a SEC team has only won 1 of the last 4 natties.

Took about 8-9 years at LSU, until around 2013.
