Me wanting him gone is a compliment, just like I want Saban gone too.

Kinda like how we want LSU to keep Miles.

Well, i can't fault him for leaving for one of the best jobs, if not the best job in the country. Florida wanting him means we're doing something right.

Might be time to knock off the dust, and fire up the ole Gus Bus.

It is 4.25 Mil right now, and is goes down to 3 mil on Jan 5th.

I thought his buyout only applied if he went to a SEC-W school.

non-compete clause for SEC-W, so they can't hire him at all. everyone else pays the buyout

Goes to show what you know about contracts.

The buy out is if he leaves before the contract time is complete.

A non-compete clause would prevent him from going to an SEC-W school.

I asked a question regarding Petrino's specific buyout. It's possible to only have a buyout for certain conditions. Harbaugh has no buyout for Michigan so it's rumored. Nick Saban had no buyout at LSU.

Who is Petrino's agent? Is it Sexton?

No, he uses a lawyer named Russ Campbell I believe for advice. Could be completely wrong on the name. Apparently he does a lot of the negotiating on his own.

Russ Campbell in Birmingham

He already has a 7-year contract of almost $4 mil a year sitting on his table at Arkansas with a $6 mil buyout he requested.

Russ is Gene Chizik's agent as well.

That is a good chunk of money to be used for the next coach if he is offered and if he decides to leave...

I'm not worried either way.

Btw, interesting question. IF Petrino was to leave, would the fan base accept Rich Rodriguez for dirt cheap prices if he's fired by Michigan?
