Maybe, but he has spend his entire coaching career in that midsouth area. I think it would be difficult to convince him to go elsewhere, but than again he is at Ole Miss.

Been his dream job. Not hard to convince somebody to coach at their dream job. Born in Oxford and lived not too far away either.

Freeze has no connections in Texas.

-Born in Oxford
-Grew up an Ole Miss fan. Went to games and wanted to play for Ole Miss.
-Entire family is in Oxford/North Mississippi
-Doesn't want to move his family from Oxford
-Has stated multiple times, even when he was a high school coach, that Ole Miss was his dream job.
-His wife and kids love living in Oxford (Most important factor)
-Has connections with almost every high school in Mississippi and a ton in the surrounding states.

He is in the perfect situation for him and his family. There is no reason for him to leave.

Freeze would be a solid replacement. He already knows what it is like to recruit at a school with a history of hating black people.

Basically why I said Texas is probably one of the few schools that could convince him to leave. I don't think many places out there could convince him to move.

I don't know why some people don't think he would leave for a bigger job.

I love how the state crowd ridiculed our girls basketball coach when he showed up. Now, this is the battle cry.

Yeah there are only a handful of times out of billions where someone has turned down more money in coaching.

I can't really think of one though.

I'm not sure your point.

If team B offers coach A from team A more money than team A, then coach A will be head coach at team B.

No. Anybody that goes to coach at Texas is going to want a large salary. Texas isn't going to give Freeze a 4-5+ (probably would be the minimum to get Freeze anywhere away from here) salary. Not based off of two years at ole miss.

Also from what I gather, Texas fans seem to care more about the name not the ability. Meaning they want someone whose name carries a lot of weight even if coaching ability is slighted.

That being said I think there are many guys that are very good coaches that Texas should/would go after long before Freeze.

Bill O'Brien
Chris Peterson
Gary Patterson
are the 3 that immediately come to mind.

If he gets us to 7-8 wins this year, which is more than possible, Freeze's salary would go up a good bit.

Not Texas like salary of course, but enough to give him no reason to leave, especially with his love and ties to the university

I'm not sure your English.

My point was that it's just humorous to see the change of heart from the state fan base. We were made fun of at first, but now everyone in Starkville would be elated to see someone come buy him away from OM.
