The "right amount" would be very high. I mean, they're gonna pay it either way though. Nutt has them dead to rights for defamation.

And like was said above, at this point it's already out of Nutt's hands anyways. Even if he dropped his suit tomorrow Ole Miss is completely fricked.

This thing is already a done deal. The next few months is going to be highly entertaining. Haha. Like a slow motion disaster. Except all the people going down deserve every bit of it.

actually, 4-8 in 2010 and 2-10 in 2011, losing 15 of the last 16 SEC games is what has hurt his prospects.

I was flabbergasted that Ole Miss ever hired him to begin with. He isn't a good enough coach to compete in the SEC. The talent around the conference went over his head while he was at Arkansas.

He had those two good years in Oxford because Orgeron actually stockpiled some talent that fit right into his scheme...But basically all Arkansas fans were laughing out loud about that hire from the jump.

Not only is he not very good, but he is easily the most toxic coach in the country. I'm not talking about over the top criminal stuff like Baylor or High Freeze...But that dude straight up destroys whatever he touches.

Nutt won't get a penny. He has no statements made by Ole Miss to college AD's or NFL owners.

The 5 official statements issued about the first NOA do not mention Nutt - they mention 2 former assistant coaches.

I would cut a check and kiss his attorney on the cheek to make him go away. If not all of the behavior from Freeze, the team will be spilled and that's before the NCAA finalizing their side.

The problem in my opinion is that people within the administration went all in so deep that they were forced to deflect and spin in hopes the Ole Miss lawyers would bail them out and get much of it tossed out.

There comes a time when you are in do deep that you worry about your own job and have nothing to lose.

In my opinion, Freeze became yet another sacrificial lamb once they realized the media was digging deep. Bjork knew what was in those NOA's but Freeze was too popular with the Ole Miss masses and he dare not fire him to save his own job?

It seems to me at the end, he found a way out as presure mounted and not only threw Freeze under the bus, but did so with the " We saved ourselves lots of money not having to pay Freeze in letting him go."

Sorant - not a single Rebal supporter has said that Bjork was wrong for terminating Freeze.

In fact, Freeze fired himself.

Why'd he do that if he's innocent?

He admitted the phone call to Detroit was from his phone, and then resigned.

Bjork accepted his resignation.

In true Ole Miss fashion you are leaving out the important details.

Bjork became aware of the Detroit phone call a week before Freeze resigned. It wasn't until they went through his phone records dating back to 2012 that they noticed "a pattern of concerning behavior". When Freeze was confronted with this mystery evidence he resigned and forfeited $15 million left on his contract.

Must be a good reason he did that.
