They've already fired Freeze.

This after doubling-down on retaining him and telling the NCAA to bring it on.

Now their strategy is to make Freeze the scapegoat and pretend they were oblivious to it all.

It doesn't matter to OM how much personal dirt comes out on Freeze at this point. They may even be hoping for more, hoping that they can argue he was such a good con man he had everyone in the dark about his prurient behavior and scandalous recruiting tactics.

How obvious does it have to be that neither Bjork nor Freeze are/were in charge of anything? They were the saps assigned to play roles in the system. The only difference was that Hugh had a cool costume with coaching gear and Bjork had to wear a red sports coat.

Matt Luke is interim coach probably will get the head coach job because he is an OM guy.

Or because no one else will take the job.

The crazy thing is they should have cleaned house in one fell swoop.

Now you look up, and the house has been 'cleaned' so to speak, but it came in agonizingly slow and embarrassing fashion.

Hugh Freeze - gone
Barney Farrar - gone
Dan Werner - gone
Dave Wommack - gone
Chris Kiffin - gone
Grant Heard - gone
Corey Batoon - gone
Ross Bjork - got about 2 more months before he's gone

If you would have told a rational Ole Miss fan at the beginning of last season that Matt Luke was basically the only hold-over from last season and that he was now the head coach, they would've jumped off a building.

I think PeeJ is advising OM on the direction to go.
And doing his usual great job.

The AD hasn't done one logical thing throughout this 2-3 year long investigation. Not surprised they continue to double down on stupid.

Bjork isn't calling all the shots in regards to this investigation. Ole Miss administrators decided on the "Exemplary Cooperation" path with the NCAA. This includes the Chancellor and other Ole Miss Board/Admins (which includes bureaucratic GOBs and Academics), and OM legal counsel.

Bjork did not hire Freeze. Bjork is not a bible thumper - he's a pragmatic personality that is not cut from the GOB Ole Miss establishment. According to Ole Miss insiders, Bjork and started questioning Freeze's personal life last fall (which had zero fricks do with the NCAA investigation). Freeze denied the questions and there was no evidence to prove he was lying.

Ole Miss chose to defend Freeze throughout both NOAs (again, nothing to do with escorts or rumors of infidelity) because:

1. He won games with average or above-average SEC talent.
2. He had TONS of booster support. Boosters loved his bible shtick and how he sold his persona (Mississippi folk love their religion). It turned out to be a crock, but he had the true believers fooled.
3. Freeze had a pricey buyout due to an idiotic contract extension. Firing him due to a NOA would've cost the Univ $16M. Part of me believes Bjork was hoping the NCAA would do it for him, (after 2nd NOA and a 5-7 season) for the price of "free".
4. Ole Miss believed that what Freeze was accused of on the recruiting trail is over-blown (see their response to 2nd NOA).

Everyone wants to conspiracy theorize that "Bjork knew Freeze was dirty and did nuffin!" - not sure how you arrive at that conclusion with anything other than confirmation bias. Hell, for all we know Bjork may have wanted to fire Freeze for some time.

The check can not come from the AD. A big time money booster needs to come forward and pay the money. Part of the deal will be Ole Miss apologizing to Nutt.

The problem is if/when Ole Miss gets hit with LOIC Bjork will be the first one fired.

Bjork should have resigned already if he wanted a chance of having a job in the College Football world again.
