If Herman is the best HC option, who gets him?

Of these teams, who has the best shot at getting Herman?

In no particular order:
LSU
Auburn
Tennessee
Aggy
Arky
Ole Miss

Here's my take:

LSU will miss out on Herman because Joe Allegra is an incompetent sleazebag and LSU needs to can his arse first.

Auburn will not be willing to outspend other competition.

Tennessee is too far out of Herman's comfort zone, so he will decline and Tenn will go after an in-conference coordinator or poach the ACC.

Assuming Arky fires Bert (which I doubt) and Les Miles is available, they will probably scoop him up. Herman has no ties to Arky and will not be interested.

Ole Miss will get NCAA sanctions that no coach wants to inherit. They will hire a no-name saint/preacher-type coach to repair their image after Freeze.

That leaves Aggy. Herman already has ties to Texas recruiting. Aggy has proven time and again to pay a frickload of money to be sub-mediocre. Herman doesn't have to move too far away from Houston, and he has established himself as Texan.

It's in the bag, folks.

But here's what I think Aggy is willing to do. We will take one for the team and make the competition fair. We will give the other programs a fighting chance to compete with each other. We will let y'all protect the opportunity to secure the services of Herman by letting you lay down while Aggy rolls to victory this season, which will secure Sumlin's job at Aggy for another year.

We are good conference partners.

If this is your reason for Auburn not getting a coach, you don't know much about Auburn.

Did I mention that LSU is LOLpoors?

Allegra will not waste money at the levels Aggy is willing to throw down for shitty results. We are the kings of blowing money on coaching.

Obvious answer is LSU due to him knowing the area anyway. That and he has been briefed on this new fad called the "forward pass".

Aggy will pay him $25 million a year and all he has to do is win 7 games a year in perpetuity. Hell, we'll give him a 40% raise if he wins a fricking bowl game.

Auburn was one of the highest laying schools for coaches last year.

However, I think Malzahn will be around for a while longer. I only hope he gives heart attacks to the old guard at Auburn so we can have new blood that won't scare away decent coaches.

I wasn't aware Aggy has a coaching vacancy.
