If God has a sense of humor, keep an eye on Jake Coker.

Last year, everyone who thought Coker would come in and take over ended up looking pretty silly (yes, most of this group is Bama fans, but be honest - even some ESPN articles had him as a Heisman candidate before he enrolled).
Now that we all think he's anything from a complete bust to a "serviceable" QB, wouldn't it be ironic if he stepped in and led Alabama to a great season, and ended up invited to NY for the Heisman ceremony? It's not beyond the realm of possibility, and it would be pretty funny after the way last year played out.

And Round Two of Alabama fans looking "pretty silly" regarding Coker predictions of greatness is off to a rousing start.

I'm not going to spend the next 4 hours trying to explain why I think this would be an interesting irony, why it is not likely but conceivable, and how you can't assume that someone is either a complete bust or a number 1 draft pick based on limited play - sometimes a player improves dramatically.
If you think I'm saying that Coker will win the Heisman, please feel free to laugh and ridicule. Four legs good, two legs baaaaaaad. Do your thing.

I wouldn't be shocked if Coker was fine. I just think it's weird that Coker is the savior, sucks, and now after a period of reflection, Alabama fans can't help but anoint him again, despite no evidence to support said anointment.
Says more to me about the nature of the Saban-era Alabama fan than anything about Coker, who, as I mention, may turn out to be a fine QB.

Given what Kiffin did with Blake Sims did last year, I don't think it's a stretch to think that whoever wins the starting job will do pretty well. If it's Coker, I just hope his accuracy has improved.

It's not a coincidence that he's in his last year of eligibility at his 2nd school and still hasn't been given the starting job.

Agreed, I think it's more of a case of circumstance.
