you wouldn't be waiting on a Missouri team that lose to Indiana to back your way in to a championship game.

If UGA goes to the SECCG, it will mean that both us and mu have 2 SEC losses, while we beat them head to head. In what universe does that equal backing in? Ooooooooooohhhhh right because they played all their OOC games to start so they finish with all SEC games. So because they finish later in the year than we do, we're backing in. Damn you're dumb.

Well I, along with plenty of other people committee included, don't think that they do or will have a better resume

So now you can tell me what the committee will think in the future if certain events happen? Well by damn! Why are you wasting your gift on message boards instead of flying out to vegas immediately?

MSU plus Wisconsin equals 1?

1 + 1 =/= 2?

nah bro, those wins aren't notable at all. Definitely don't stack up to beating 4 loss west teams.

The second one isn't notable at. fricking. all. They haven't even played yet and Wisconsin could very well beat Ohio State. shite, how would that work out.

The very team that wins the conference, lost to an unranked, last place team in the SEC West.

MSU and Wisconsin, next question.

A few of us still recall LSU beating Wisconsin.

I think Ohio St gets in too but only a total fool would call Wisconsin a quality win but totally discount LSU in the same breath when LSU beat Wisconsin and, just as significantly, has more good wins than Wisconsin.

Just like you can peer into the future and tell us that Ohio State has already beat Wisconsin. Funny how that works.

What would be LSU's best win besides Wisconsin? A 4 loss ole miss team? Wisconsin killed a 3 loss Nebraska team. That's a better win that anything LSU has.

Goddammit. You can use futures when it works favorably for you? Seems like this little debate has been rigged, and not in my favor.

Good God, man. The OP posed a hypothetical situation where Ohio State beats Wisconsin in the B1G Championship game. That is the premise for this entire discussion. Learn to read.

It's in the fricking title.

a team CURRENTLY ranked 14th, who will likely beat the 18th ranked team saturday and move up a few more spots, isn't "notable at all"?

How absolutely unbelievably stupid are you?

and Wisconsin could very well beat Ohio State. shite, how would that work out.

It would make the OP, which states:

quote:

If everyone wins out still in contention

no longer valid. But I was playing by the rules of the OP and assuming OSU wins out. Maybe you're the one who needs some work on reading comprehension.

But if Wisconsin somehow takes down the mighty OSU, wouldn't that mean that LSU is better than the entire big 10?

That's what I think you're missing. The hypothetical assumes OSU winning the B1G.

Yeah, I did skip right over that.

I got pulled in by WG's first post. That's what my argument stemmed from.

I apologize for missing the assumed outcome.

Most of my opinions still stand, if you take out where I think Ohio State loses to Wisconsin.

I've never had a problem with you in the past, and I admit I glossed over a vital piece of info from the OP which invariably made me look dumb.

So now that that is settled. There is no way MSU gets in if the OP hypothetical happens. You better start rooting for a bunch of teams that aren't Bulldogs, because someone else needs to upset one of the 1-loss teams for you guys to get a chance.

First, LSU beat Wisconsin. . .on a neutral field That's immense and then some.

Ole Miss has been considered by the committee/voters ect a better team than Nebraska all season based on quality wins.

Ole Miss beat Alabama, who did Nebraska beat? Miami and? Boise St is probably better any Nebraska win. . . .

Nebraska is a good win but that they played an easier schedule than Ole Miss and therefore having one less loss is certainly not a convincing argument that Nebraska is a better win than Ole Miss.

The whole problem with the old AP Poll we're supposedly trying to get beyond was that it hardly accounted for uneven scheduling and just ranked by adding up losses.

People in this thread seem to be repeating that error and in spades.

I think there is still a way, however unlikely.

As I have made quite clear, much to my dismay , I think Ohio State loses to Wisconsin.

Even if they don't though, if you go back and look at the end of the College Football regular season for the past several years, top teams have lost in the last two weeks. shite, could very well be us, but I sure hope not.
