I agree they're for interest. Nothing wrong with that.

However, the people who want them every week seem to just want to see what the committee values, and to be able to see where each team stands from week to week, so the committee can't just forge teams to the top 4 the last week of the season.

But they still can do that if they want to, depending on how much they value conference championships.

Yea it's certainly more transparent that they're putting them out weekly, and that's the one reason I like them doing it. I can't even imagine the amount of conspiracy theory and hate (it's going to be bad enough as it is) that would transpire at the end if the very first committee rankings were the last ones.

The Vols are a pretty good litmus test for Bama. Ole Miss beat you worse and took them out head to head. It is going to be nasty what LSU does to them in a couple of weeks. There is serious payback coming.

The thing is with those two games is Bama was about to slaughter us A&M style. And then Josh Dobbs came is as QB and put up more offense on Bama than anyone has all year - think about that. We have sucked at running the ball all year Dobbs comes in and combines with our RB and goes for more rushing yards than any team has managed against them all year. Had he not taken 2 sacks - he'd have had 100 yards by himself rushing instead of ~75 yards against Bama's D. And again, Dobbs hadn't played a single snap this year before then. Just having him under center opens our offense.

In contrast, the OM game marked yet another SEC game without a touchdown. Worley simply was not the same after his UGA performance and injury.

I mean we don't know for sure what we've got yet in Dobbs because it's only one game but coming in cold midseason and leading a dead offense to near comeback after being sent in 2 scores down is nothing to sneeze at. The kid has talent for sure and if he plays like he played Bama - we're not the same team that started the year at all.

Hell Dobbs managed to make our line look serviceable by escaping what would've been a sackfest.

I presume that the hawg's Jeff Long will have to recuse himself from voting, as an SEC AD. But Rice will get to vote & she's a huge, self professed bama fan. With no formal ties, she is free to vote as she pleases. Chalk up one vote for bama.

That would be nice and that is the way it should be, you know, in the real world.

But, as is often the case with people trying to prove just how impartial they are, they will intentionally not support anyone/anything they think people may be suspicious about.

What is likely to happen with Rice is that she will vote against Alabama just to show how impartial she is, even if she really should have voted for Alabama based on the evidence.

It's kind of like Greg McElroy and his gig on the SEC Network. To appear impartial, the little shite-stick goes absolutely out of his way, more than any other announcer, to demean and belittle Alabama.

we are not AU, UT,OM,USM,UGA or Florida ST. we do not run up the score,

When has Auburn ever run up the score on anyone? We play to tough of a schedule to run up the score. We have to fight to the end to win them all.

I really would be fine with the committee not releasing a poll until the final one.

You could argue it will only increase the chance that the committee lets public backlash affect them.
