If Auburn goes East; 9 game schedule passes; who would be the permanent opponents?

I don't have a problem with it as long as Alabama got to keep both TSIO and the Iron Bowl.

But if Alabama is willing to have two Big 6 opponents every year the rest of the Big 6 should have to reciprocate and that's not possible.

LSU could match it with Florida and Auburn, but who would the rest of the West get as permanent opponents?

Auburn would be off the table.

Just for shits and giggles:

Auburn - Alabama, LSU
Georgia - Ole Miss, ?
Florida - LSU, ?
South Carolina - Arkansas, Missouri
Vanderbilt - Ole Miss, ?
Kentucky - MSU, ?
Tennessee - Alabama, ?

Who would A&M get in this scenario?

I'll post the same I did in the other. Aside from Bama and Tennessee and Auburn and Georgia, the rest were just threw together. Throwing together more match ups wouldn't be hard. You could put anyone against anyone.

Auburn - Alabama, LSU
Georgia - Ole Miss, A&M
Florida - LSU, MSU
South Carolina - Arkansas, Missouri
Vanderbilt - Ole Miss, Missouri
Kentucky - MSU, A&M
Tennessee - Alabama, Arkansas

Auburn and Georgia would both be in the East.

ETA: Nice edit.

Umm, since Auburn would be in the east in this scenario, they get UGA every year whether you like it or not.

If Major League Baseball can make realignment work so can the SEC.

In this Auburn fantasy scenario that will never come to fruition, VOLS should have Ole Miss as permanent opponent #2 imo.

Would the Iron Bowl stay at the end of the season if Auburn went to the East?

Could have back to back Iron Bowl games.

Bama and Auburn belong in the same division, so Auburn needs to stop bitching about moving to another division, because they want a easier schedule.

I'm all for a 9 game schedule, but I'd be in favor, instead of 1 permanent or even 2 permanent opponents, but to have a revolving 2 team specialty.

For example, in Alabama's case let it be AU and TN:
2018
@Tenn
UGA
@Missouri

2019
Auburn
@FLa
Vandy

2020
Tenn
Ky
@USCe

2021
@Auburn
Missouri
@UGA

2022
@Tenn
Fla
@Vandy

2023
Auburn
@Ky
USCe

2024
repeat 2018 (swapping Tenn to home)

2025
repeat 2019 (swapping Auburn to away)

etc.

This way, rivalries for Bama are somewhat maintained, and everyone gets to play everyone within 3 years.

West 2 team groupings:

Alabama :Tenn and AU
Arkansas: Tenn and Vandy
LSU: USCe and UGA
Missouri : KY and FL
Ole Miss: Vandy and UGA
MSU: KY and USCe
aTm: AU and FL

TSaint up to his usual antics!
That a false premise....LSU already has a permanant rival in gaytors....
We don't have to play Auburn if they leave....
The Bama, Auburn, Tennessee thing is for you girls to figure out!

Schedule would be horribly unbalanced. There's really no good answer other than to go back to 12 teams.

I thought you had turned the corner from being a terrible poster, but you are starting to make me believe I was wrong.
