Malzahn is going to have to deal with this mindset this year. Totally opposite from last year when they were the underdog trying to slay the giant. It's likely Arkansas will have the same attitude AU had last year. I expect a close game.

Upvoted. Hope they keep reading the press clippings.

"Totally opposite from last year when they were the underdog trying to slay the giant."

This is still true (at least the perception), and will always be true. Its been true for as long as I can recall, despite AU having the most wins in the SEC.

If not for losing the NC, I'd be worried. Gus and the players have been chomping at the bit to get this season started. They're pissed about how the season ended and are ready to take some aggression out.

There are Ark fans that are still upset that Gus is not their HC

I think some Auburn fans really want to believe this due to their inferiority complex caused by Bama.

Gotta go hide under their skirt. Couldn't just keep this about auburn and arkansas.

You can call them gus disciples or whatever you need to, but you know it's true, they may be fringe lunatics in your opinion but that doesn't mean there aren't arky fans upset that he's not the coach.

And there is nothing wrong with it. We had fans that were upset BP wasn't named our coach.

Again, the expectation of the team changed after the A&M Game. After that, most fans were pretty confident about them winning. The team handled the press clippings pretty well also.

Is BB able to recover and stay off the hotseat.

Do we really need another thread like this? The 15 we had over the past 7 or 8 months haven't been enough?

Yes! If Bert loses by more than 21 points to Auburn, there will be a riot on campus and a fat dummy will be burned in effigy.

AU was a Top 10 team the last month of the season...he and the team handle expectations just fine.

maybe its just because he is normally breaking in a brand new QB but Gus' teams have generally started kinda slow. I dont think it will be a blowout even if AU is in control the whole game.

I guess if you only look at the past 3 seasons. But this overused Arkansas talking point doesn't work when looking at 2010, 2009, 2008, & 2007. Even in 2011, the Utah State game was Trotter's best statistical start of his career.

We do start slow. Gus even said it at Media days that it takes him about 3-4 games to figure out all the players.

We did not really hit high gear in 2010 until the USCe game.
