I believe they have recently shifted from playing a handful of games in LR to just 1 a year, similar to how legion field decreased with bama games back when.

I don't know the reasoning that they have to play x amount of games off the main campus.

I THINK it's to appease the fans in the lower part of the state that don't/won't travel all the way to fayetteville for a game. Personally I think it's dumb, but whatever.

UT

Now there is some excellent reasoning - what a veritable fountain trove of inside football knowledge by so many posters on this board! And with no hint of bias against the best gameday experience and stadium in college football.

Tulane Stadium was torn down in 1980. It was about as iconic as it gets. Capacity over 80,000 in the 1940's made it the largest stadium in the south. Larger than Tiger Stadium, Bryant-Denny or Legion Field on the day it was torn down. Home of the Sugar Bowl and hosted New Orleans' first two Super Bowls. I think it was the first 2.

1- it's treasure trove not fountain trove
2 - I provided reasoning
3 - UT got rid of the erector set holding up the fatasses in the tiny seats? I don't think so.
4 - that means UT has one of the structures that is a leading candidate for being torn down first.
5 - Why does any of the above upsetting to you?

Contract expires in a couple years and all games will be in Fayetteville. War Memorial will be the first to be torn down.

tamu's kyle field. In a few years, the administration at tamu will grow tired of tPOS thugs Sumlin brings in who wipe their butts with the student honor code.

They will shut down the program, and tear down the house that johnny built.

Didn't Texas A&M just tear down the last bit of Kyle field?

My answer is A&M.

There is none of the original stadium left, despite the fact that we have been playing on that spot continuously for a long, long time. The top two decks on the student side are the oldest part of the existing structure, but I don't remember when they were added. Since they are self-supporting, they were left standing while the bottom deck on the student side was demolished and rebuilt last offseason.

Basically, the entire structure is modern except the top two decks on the student side, and they have have been extensively renovated.

East second deck was started in '67 and finished in '68. East third deck was started in '79 and finished in '80. The north endzone was constructed in 1998-99. Football has been played on Kyle Field since about 1904. The old horseshoe that was built in 1927-29, is now all gone.

UFs. The moisture and the fact it is in ground will cause it to deteriorate faster.

They play x number of games off campus because LR >> NWA. Plus WMS is a palace...

Joining the SEC is why we raised capacity to over 100k.
