If allegations against Michigan prove to be true, should they receive a playoff ban?

Playoff ban - yes

Harbaugh forced out - no, but suspended to start next season again.

This seems about right.

No. If someone is dumb enough to get their signals stolen then they deserve it. It's no different than knowing what plays teams run when lined up a certain way. They can still change it last second before it can be relayed to the team.

Plus most plays have options that can't be known by the signal or zones on defense.

Go figure a Barn rat would be ok with it after trying to sign steal their way to a Natty.

Kelvin and crablegs deservedly put them in the dirt after it was found out.

“…staring down the barrel of the death penalty.”

Where did I hear that?

Actually, most people consider it completely different. Look at what happened with the Patriots and what happened with the Astros.

But you always have a bad take.

This.

Since when is stealing signals illegal? Doesn't every team do this?

Another Auburn fan. Go figure.

If true, the Wolverines would have violated NCAA Bylaw 11.6.1, which states: "Off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents (in the same season) is prohibited.

How blatant did it have to be to get the neutered NCAA to launch an investigation into it mid season?

I don't know if it's common practice and everyone is doing it, but it sounds bad for sure. Post-season ban seems reasonable but I'd like to mud stomp them again in the playoffs, too.

But sign stealing during the game is not the only allegation. If during the game you figure out signals, that's not illegal.

They are claiming that Harbough has people go to opponent games and watch their sidelines to steal the signals in advance. Sending scouts to an opponent's game (or practice) for the sole intent of signal stealing is in fact illegal by NCAA rules.

This is why you now see every team holding up big blinders and shite during games.

You would think by now that teams would have figured out how to make signals random enough so they can't be stolen.

No - it’s too enjoyable to see them get trashed in the playoffs

I think it is because some schools can afford to hire people to scout their future opponents while other schools can't. It's purpose is to level the playing field.
