Richt pulls out all the stops for this one, and goes with all of the above!

We only play dirty against dirty teams. It used to be FSU and Miami, but now includes Georgia since Richt has been there.

Well to be fair, Richt has FSU and Miami in him.

UGA is consistently the dirtiest team in this league. Often showing a complete and utter disregard for sportsmanship.

What's particularly funny is that it all happens, often encouraged, under the watch of the ultimate Christian, role model head-coach.

Your coach created the Fulmer cup. You want to talk trash? Remind me when Tennessee was good?

Atleast FSU and Miami were good and won NCG unlike irrelevant Richt.

Mostly scooter and drinking violations. We haven't gotten to the level of Ronnie "AK-47" Wilson who shot up a parking lot and was allowed back on the team

He literally shot up a parking lotlot, in that it was empty. And he fired couple of shots into the ground as a dumb college kid.

In 1964 Spurrier was soph and we lost to UGA when the FG kicker Bobby Etter ran in for a score...think the final was 10-7 or something like that.

The next year Spurrier got payback when we beat UGA late in the 4th qt on 2 long throws by him, the second throw was a TD. 14-10 was the score (this is all by memory btw).

To me the worse loss was 1976 when we led at halftime 27-13 behind our explosive wishbone triple option offense. We would have probably won the SEC that year....but UGA came out of the locker room with their hair on fire led by HC Vince Dooley...and pounded us with their veer option of QB Ray Goff. We couldnt move the ball and they had all the momentum going their way and we couldnt stop them. The game had turned and it was 27-27...we had 4th down with 1 yd to go....our HC Dickey knew if we punted that UGA would march right down the field....so he gambled on that 4th down from our own 29 yd line...I agreed with the call...it was either die now, win or die later. The only problem was we pitched out to our FB who was very very fast...but we had faster RBs...on a sweep and he was tackled for no gain...game over 41-27. We were so demoralized that we lost to UK the next week.

Now Crow what the hell did Stanfill say about Spurrier? It was the year that he won the Heisman and DEs are always jealous about those things.

Boasting about injured players are we? Nice.

Just wondering what your reaction would be if UT fans bragged about Chubb getting hurt or AU fans bragging about Gurley getting hurt.

Lets not forget that UGA RB who was the nations # 1 rated RB in high school...Crowton or something like that? He almost got Murray the UGA QB killed by not being able to pick up blitzs against Boise State...but he was true frosh.

That RB later was arrested with handguns/drugs and was trying to sell them...kicked off team...the number # 1 RB....but you knew this kid had problems...he had interlopers dealing with recruiters and didnt make decision of which school to go with until all the bids were in UF backed off early and as I recall....was between UGA & Bama...what a waste of a scholly....kid probably couldnt read or write.

That was for the rushing of the field the year before. You know this. Also this is what Spikes has to deal with.

Really? well we ard dirty because 10 years ago Florida.......

What a silly, silly argument. Are we really going to try to go back as far as we can to prove who started it? You sound like and child.

Crowell. SEC freshman of the year. He fricked up, but charges were eventually dropped because they couldn't tie him to the gun.

He got his shite together and is the starting RB for the Browns now.

The Stanfill story was something about how when he was growing up, he used to have to chase, tackle and pin down hogs on his farm so that his dad could castrate them. He said the squealing reminded him of Steve Spurrier getting sacked.

I'll try to find the quote later.

Right. How could you not have seen Aaron hernandez and Percy harvin? I mean, all that 20/20 vision Florida has, and their desire to stay away from bad kids, I wonder how you ended up with one player that is a murderer and another that assaulted on of your own coaches? That's amazing. I'm sure Harvin was kicked off the team after assaulting his coach, right?

Wrong dogface...maybe you want to check records first before spouting off. Ron Wilson was kicked off team...he paid his own way to get back in school, walked on UF football team and was dismissed shortly thereafter. We didnt just 'allowed" him back on team. Was Urban a little lax with discipline? I think so...Spurrier would NEVER put up with the crap Urban did and I think its because Spurrier was ex player at UF, loved his school and was straight arrow. You can criticize him for other things..but Spurrier didnt cheat....he hated that crap.

True story....I went to the Football hall of Fame in Atlanta (Highly recommend it....it's GREAT) and there was an old Florida QB working there. I wish I could remember his name, but he was smallish and was one of your triple option QBs. He was very good in college, as I remembered his name. I THINK he was drafted as a WR for pro ball. had some drug problems, but has overcome them and is doing very well with his life. He spent a LOT of time with the group I was with. Took pictures with each of us....VERY nice guy.

ETA: Terry LeCount was his name! Great guy!

It's funny how these threads go on and on about kids we all recruit.

I quit calling out other teams about this for a couple of reasons.

1.) As soon as you make fun of a kid at another school for getting arrested yours will have 2 the next week.

2.) As I already mentioned we all recruit the same kids and a coach cannot control what they do. The coach can however, control how he reacts via punishment etc. This is what I look at.

With that being said. Urban Meyer without a doubt let things get out of control once the success started.

Muschamp did pretty well IMO in that regard. Don't get me wrong I still hate that sumbitch.

Mac has been doing well thus far.

And onto Richt. No doubt he has learned from the best in Bobby Bowden. Act Saintly, but let your players do what they do. This came back to bite Richt a few years ago, but since then I think he has cracked down. And I commend him on that.

Looks like this is a good week for Bama to have a bye week.

Between the Hatefest in the Cocktail Party, the Tubberville Bowl at JHS, and the Midnight madness at 11 am, this will be a fun weekend to just watch games and enjoy with no stress.
