And the long list of UF athletes who were accused of crimes? Not UF's problem either, I guess. Not surprising... I think Urban had the same "win at all costs" atitude.

In 1963 (Spurrier was frosh and couldnt play) we got an onside kick to help us win against Wally Butts. Our star RB/FB was Larry Dupree and he & his wife had just suffered a stillborn child and his father in law was Colonel at Florida Hiway Patrol and they escorted Dupree to Jax just in time for the game with his wife's blessings. Don't know that story. I just know the stuff about Stanfill because of his interview after the fact when he said some less-than-flattering things about Spurrier.

Two things:
1)Suspects aren't convictions and the Gainesville PD is worse than Athens in terms of going after football players- sure there's some serious duff in there bit there's also stuff like "barking at a dog" and "fighting back when you get mugged" hell we had a violation of a restraining order (normally a super serious crime that was aa suspect then immediately dropped because both parties realized it was a massive mistake (opposite ends of a campus shuttle).
And
2) Seriously Boom was a cancer, note who the coach was during the vast majority of that time period- just goes to show you what happens when you let a graduate of the Peach State's 3rd best college run a major institution.
