Richt lost to vandy and Kentucky in his first year. He won the seccg the following year and the sugar bowl.

He fielded four true freshmen on defense, including the entire linebacking corps. He'll be just fine.

His defense is good though. Richt is the OC and that is where the team sucks. UGA will be fine too with a top 3 recruiting class on the way. When you can't run the ball on Vandy and or Nicholls State you know your talent is lacking

The 2007 against Vandy game was kind of the turning point for that team. They had had a tenuous season to that point, but after that last minute win the Dawgs won by double digits against everyone they played after including the Auburn blackout and the Sugar bowl. Finished #2 in the AP, 3 way tie for the east which went to UT and got hosed by ESPN and the media. The company line back then was you gotta win your conference, that has changed in recent years.

Uhh no he didn't.
13-2 against both and only in 2006, coincidentaly UGA was breaking in Stafford , did he lose to both in the same season. And that was also his first lost to either school as well.

I hate this comparison and it's been said many times,this situation is completely different.
Saban was a successful HC, Kirby not so much.
Bama was coming off just an aweful time in their program history completely rock bottom and probation issues, the Alabama program was about to go down the rabbit hole had Saban not taken the job. UGA won 10 last year and had another excellent recruiting class. A 500 season is unacceptable this year. Not that anything should happen to KS, he'll get it how he wants it, but still unacceptable. I promise you, Kirby, the players, the coaches, and most reasonable UGA fans think that as well.
