A .500 season is not acceptable, but let's not act like UGA is loaded with experienced. True freshman QB, no elite wide receivers, a poor offensive line, no pass rush etc.
Most of is the complete lack good upper-class talent. If we recruited so well then why are our upper-classmen so lacking in NFL talent? We really don't even have a senior class. 2013 might as well have been probation.

Richt and Smart have both lost three games to date, both are in their first year at their respective gigs.

True about the 2013 class. But it gets tiring hearing the excuses and blame game. UGA has not had a class outside of the top 20 rankings in how long, ever? Nichols and Vandy have never had a class inside the top 25. Kirby and all clearly get the benefit of learning when it comes to playing OM, UT, UF, even UNC and Au. But coming out flat against team again and again, he needs to start to figure out how the prepare the team.

That game makes me nervous. For the first time in a long time we have more talent but we've got to get over the hump. At 8 out the last 10, it's mental with UGA now.

Oh, yes he did. Maybe not this season, but he lost to Vandy on homecoming in '06.

We don't know yet. Considering Richt was at UGA for 15 years and Kirby is in his first season as a HC, there's now doubt that Richt is a better coach at this point due to experience alone. Whether this holds over time, remains to be seen.

it's not that we dont' gaf, it's that we're not stupid enough to call for heads after halfway through season 1. If we're losing to vandy in year 2 or 3 we may have problems. BAsically anythign that happens this year is irrelevant in my eyes.

I agree, Richt is a coach that can will bring you stability. However, he lacks the drive of a Saban or Meyer. Richt won't bring you any championships.
