I don't think he got scared of competition, I think he got scared of his own success. The more we won the more stressed out he seemed to become and he put more and more pressure on himself.

Unless that team is UGA or possibly LSU. They seem to be the only ones who choke against non-conference. UGA to MSU/WVU, LSU to Penn St/Clemson, etc.

LSU under Miles has been a standard bearer for the SEC out of conference. They have beaten:

#1 Ohio State 38-24
#3 Oregon 40-27
#3 Virginia Tech 48-7
#9 Miami 40-3
#11 Notre Dame 41-14
#14 Georgia Tech 38-3
#15 Arizona St. 35-31
#16 West Virginia 47-21
#17 Texas AM 41-24
#18 North Carolina 30-24
#22 West Virginia 20-14
Arizona 45-3
Fresno St. 38-6
Washington 31-23
Washington 41-3

Average score versus top 14 = 40-13

He gets one guy out of Texas (Mike Mitchell) that was wanted by the SEC and Urban Meyer's Buckeyes are suddenly badasses.

osu got the linebacker out of Texas because he was afraid he wouldn't get pt at A&M.

Saying osu will dominate the Big 10 still isn't saying much.

Bulemia about to be wishing he could be back home in the Big 10.

I didn't think it possible for Chuck Norris to look gay. You pulled it off.

I typed macro managers. Autocorrect changed it.

I know enough that if the Aggies play you, the Buckeyes will take a curbstomping they will long remember.

osu in the SEC would have been an 8-4 team at best.

He can win. There's no doubting that. And there was a time after 2009 where you could legitimately debate who was the better coach between Saban and him. But there is no debating that now. He isn't even in the same league anymore.

Sure you can. 10 win season at Bowling Green. Undefeated BCS season at Utah. 2 BCS titles at UF. Undefeated first season at Ohio State.

I think you need to rewatch the game

Mathieu caused Barner to fumble on the punt. Then James and Barner left with injury. Then Thomas fumble on consecutive plays. First Montgomery. Then Loston on the next KO

I dare you to respond.

The man is an amazing recruiter. He's pulled a lot more than just Mitchell from the evil clutches of the SEC. Dontre Wilson, Vonn Bell, Ezekial Elliot, Joey Bosa and others were highly sought after by more than one SEC team.

No, you can't. Saban won 9 games in his first season as a head coach at Toledo. He turned a program mired in scandal and destroyed by NCAA sanctions at Michigan State into a winner and bowl contender. He won the SEC in his second season at LSU and shortly thereafter won a national title. He has since won three more despite taking a two-year hiatus and rebuilding yet another program. It's quite reasonable to think Meyer might have no titles at all had Saban stayed at LSU.

Meyer can recruit. However, I think the man is burning bridges and he better win. I see it not ending well.
