As a coach, absolutely. As a human being I would take just about any coach in the country over Meyer.

He may be a great coach but who wants a guy thats going to leave a school for "health reasons" and then resurface at another big school a year later?

It takes more than just a few speedy players to compete in the SEC. As everyone knows it really all begins and ends in the trenches in this conference.

I fully agree. OSU needs to go south for linemen, and pulled Bosa and Hill from the south last cycle. Pulled the DE from Florida this year thus far. They need to pull 2-3 linemen a year, then add that with midwest talent and a few skill position guys. I think that, along with the top Ohio and Midwest talent, can suffice

Miles had the chance to tuck tail and run to the B1G too but he decided to stay. At least Miles has a set.

I would take Miles over Meyer. At least Miles didnt pussy out and go work for ESPN when RP got booted and LSU had rough times ahead. Meyer is a Ppos.

Watching Cam Newton tear it up at Auburn didn't do any good for his health either.

Health reasons and family reason. This was verified by taking an ESPN job, then going to tOSU...all within 1.5 years. Whereupon he used the soapbox to decry criminal athletes...the kind he recruited at UF...the kind he reported to the NCAA later.

Meyer is a piece of shite.

They showed a picture of Meyer right after that play. Seemed to me to be complete disdain and frustration
Right before the replay review, Meyer was signaling change of possession emphatically using his arm 'cause he was so sure it would be ruled an incomplete forward pass. When it was upheld as a lateral he looked white as a ghost, shell shocked. It was a delicious moment.

if Newton had stayed at Florida they would have had a pretty epic dynasty rolling into 2011.

Unless that team is UGA or possibly LSU. They seem to be the only ones who choke against non-conference. UGA to MSU/WVU, LSU to Penn St/Clemson, etc.

I would include Arky, but then I remembered they won't ever be in that position.

... when he was at Florida. Big difference. The article sloughs-over the reference to the colder climate in Columbus, so he'll be fighting an uphill battle snagging enough recruits from down here to play up there when they could play down here and be members of the SEC.

And he was outcoached in many a conference game down here but still managed to win ... I give Tebow a lot of credit for that, and luck, and even to some extent questionable ethics. He often times played players that should not have been playing ... ala Bobby Bowden.

to be fair, Ohio produces great players too. Check out the NFL. A lot more players than from SC, TN, MS, and KY.

Him combining the Ohio athletes plus a few SEC guys is a lethal combo. They will be great and they will be able to compete with the SEC. Urban is not Jim Tressell. Also, people forget that ohio talent defeated that great Miami team in 2002 who had just as many guys as Miami 2001.

p. That's exactly why Oregon couldn't go toe-to-toe against LSU. The difference in talent in the trenches.

Without Tyrann causing DAT to go functionally retarded in that game, LSU possibly loses.

Meyer said himself, that it was not the same talent cam had at UF. someone taught him to play better, after florida.

Meyer had/has a disdain for AU.

Meyer couldnt handle the ins and outs of the SEC. he took his ball and went home

Someone ate their stupid pills today....you do realize the Penn St/Clemson losses are the only two OOC games Miles has lost in 8 years right?! No other coach comes close to that record in NCAA right now. shite, even Saban slipped up to UAB and ULM.
