I realize LF is good, but Alabama is the last team in the country you want to try that against without going high tempo. Especially on the road.

Here is the thing, if Saban plays with 7 in the box, and keeps his safeties back, which is what he'll do unless it's 3rd down and blitz time, then LSU is absolutely going to pound it against a 7 man front. That's what is gonna happen. Saban isn't gonna change what he does for Fournette and LSU, and LSU isn't gonna change what they do just because it is Bama. I honestly think Bama won't be able to stop Fournette and company playing 2 safeties back, I think LSU will force Saban's hand. Will be interesting.

Not dominate as a pass rush or in coverage but in stopping the run they are pretty damn dominate.

Jalen Hurd averaged 5.1 yards per carry

This is legitimate. Saban has begun however to recruit leaner defensive linemen. They just haven't seen the field.

Im feelin the tide on this one. Wish it wasnt so, but I just think LSU can be made one dimensional if Fournette gets pinned in. He'll get his yards, but I dont see LSU winning this game.

Gonna be fun to watch doe...

117 yards on 42 carries is rushing at will?

ETA. I'm a retard, those are Bama's stats. UT still only ran for 132 yards

People that say this didn't watch the game. Over half those points were gifted. They still count. But, it's not really on the defense, nor is it something other teams can plan to benefit from.

It was still 430 yards of offense given up.

7 catches for 58 yards. Yea, got to watch out for this.

you're missing the point.

no one, yet, has been able to slow him down on the ground. I'm proposing that bama may have that capability, and harris will be throwing to LF7 more

Why is it impossible to do either depending on what team we play?

Every year, Bama's rush defense is good. And we hear about how they won't be run on. Yet we consistently have run for around 150 yards a game, with one outlier in 2013.

2014- 183
2013- 43
2012- 139
2011- 148
2010- 225

If we keep Lousiana State to under 150 yards rushing we win the game.

We heard about how good the gump D was in 2012. What was it? They could beat Jacksonville on a neutral field and their defense with Upshaw Hightower couldn't be ran on. LSU ran off tackle on 3rd and 6 for a first down and had over 400 yards of offense. Still hard to believe we lost that game and probably the Nat'l Championship that night.

This! I have hear so much every year about how LSU will not be able to run the ball. Every year, we run the ball. Last year we ran 56 times with no threat of a pass and still moved the ball down the field. Alabama's D is not the 85 bears although that is how its being made out in the press.

Every team can be made to be one dimensional if you shut down one of the two things they can do.

That applies to any team in every game, including Alabama, if LSU pins in Henry. I've at least watched another team(Arkansas) pin in Henry this year, LSU's front 7 is every bit as good as what Arkansas brought to the table. I've yet to see a team come close to stopping Fournette, and that is with consistent 8 man fronts and cheating defensive backs, a 7 man front will be something Fournette hasn't seen since last year. The best way to stop Fournette is to load the box and dare LSU to pass so they don't hand it to him...Bama is not going to do that though, they are going to invite LSU to run the ball.

Their backs(not Dobbs) did average 5 yards a carry.

OK. If you think that game is indicative of anything that will happen in this one, ok. Just, OK.

Ole Miss, who leads the SEC in passing yards, with the benefit of a 70+ yard fluke play, and the iffy lineman downfield play which added another 60+ yards, got 341 passing yards. And LSU, who is dead last in the SEC in passing, is going to duplicate that, presumably, without a 75 yard pass off of a defenders hands into a 2nd WR's hands while the QB is being sacked.

I'm not saying Bama's defense can't be beaten. I'm just saying there are outliers that aren't always indicative of the situation.

SO only your good games will be indicative of how yall perform?

I love how you ignore fluke plays for yall, like the illegal touching of the onside kick in that Ole Miss game. Hate to break it to you, but all plays count.

So we can assume you're best defensive game was an outlier too? So yall are just average then?
