By running much more HUNH. It's not LSU's preferred gameplay, but I think you see it more Saturday.

Leonard Fournette is a generational talent, but Alabama has 4 future NFL starters on their D-Line and a potential future pro-bowler at MLB. They are built better than any team in the country to stop the run. So I think Miles tries to negate that advantage to give LF a better chance.

Alabama's D-Line is one of the top 3 in the country but they have one major weakness; they're extremely heavy.
The average weight of their 4 D-Linemen is 312 pounds, and 320+ when they rotate Allen out (only 270) out. They can stuff the run on the first few downs better than anyone, but when you force them to go quickly and don't give Saban a chance to substitute, less talented offensive line's can absolutely start getting some push.

That's what Ole Miss did the past 2 years, that's what Ohio State did, and that's what TAMU/Auburn have done in years past.

I'v always said this. It's not that Saban "hasn't figured out how to stop the HUNH", it's that he doesn't have the personnel you need to stop it.

nope. they may do some quick snaps, but we aren not a HUNH offense. LSU is going to ground and pound on Bama for 4 quarters. It is what we do.

We are going to run it right down their throat. Just for spite if nothing else.

I realize LF is good, but Alabama is the last team in the country you want to try that against without going high tempo. Especially on the road.

They will run the ball and control the clock. When you have the most talent you take the least amount of risk and let your talent win. Both teams have the same plan. But Bama is more of an open offense than LSU. Coker might be the difference, good or bad.

They'd have 300 yards in offensive penalties.

people say this like it's a big positive, but I see it as a weakness. Why not adapt to exploit an opponents weakness instead of just being stubborn on saying we're just ganna do what we do

Bama's defense is good, maybe the best...but a 40 burger at home is what it is. I believe that loss may have been a fluke, but they're not as great as people make them out to be

You forget about the LSU OL. Plus LSU can run it a hundred different ways and the passing game is capable of more than we've seen. Bama's D can be attacked many ways, all of which LSU can manage.

We still run at them a lot tomorrow.

Because what we do is more successful than what the HUNH teams of the league do. Look at Ole Miss. Yay, they beat Bama two years in a row, but what do they have to show for it? Building yourself to beat one team is not the smart play.

LSU has done this quite a bit this year. More early on IIRC.

Why are you claiming national championships that weren't won by Bama?

LSU has 4-5 future NFL players on the OL, and a running back that will thrive in the NFL against NFL defenses. We won't need gimmicks to have success against them.

People that say this didn't watch the game. Over half those points were gifted. They still count. But, it's not really on the defense, nor is it something other teams can plan to benefit from.

The problem is OM only ran to stay balanced. The game plan was never to get points on the ground. It was to attack the young secondary. They aren't as young as they were early in the year and question are still out there on Harris and having to throw to win a game. That's why this game is so hard to pick.
