And my question would have been, then why didn't he start? According to all the hype, he is pre-season All SEC. If he is really that good then Gus, as good a coach as he is, would have started him last year. I just can't wrap my head around it logically.

Prescott was 2nd in the SEC in passing yards (and he returns 5 of his top 6 WR's)
Prescott was 2nd in the SEC in TD passes (and returns 5 of his top 6 WR's)
Prescott was 3rd in the SEC in completion percentage (and he returns 5 of his top 6 WR's)

AND

He rushed for over 900 yards

He is far and away the best QB in the SEC - and will put up bigger numbers now that his WR's aren't so young anymore

If Prescott just duplicate's last year- doesn't even have to surpass it- he's one of the SEC's 5 best QB's in history

I can't argue with that. He is certainly one of the top 5 QB's in Mississippi State history.

Hell, I'll go one further and put him in the discussion for the top 3 MSU QB's.

I've already done the research- he is going to be top 5 all-time in a couple of categories- and has a shot to be #1 in one

I'm a huge fan of Dak Prescott, but he's not a top 5 quarterback when it comes to a historical standpoint in the SEC.

If Dak played for anyone else in the SEC you'd be slobbing his knob. You are really gonna hate him after he beats your Tigers again in September.

Marshall took us to a NCG with his talent. Why would you push that aside and burn his last year of eligibility when you can use him while knowing you have an excellent passer that will be there next year? You replace people when you think they can't get it done. You are making it sound as though Marshall was a horrible QB.

If he was at LSU I wouldn't call him top 5 in sec history once he is finish

Of course not. You think he is the 6th or 7th best Qb this year. You clearly aren't operating with a full deck.

That's because Miles wouldn't know how to use him.

Prescott is chasing Tebow's numbers this year- who may be the greatest SEC QB in history- but he's only 3rd or 4th in the SEC this year? Some people are so stupid

I like the kid to be honest and I think he's a solid QB, but I agree he is not among the elite of the SEC in terms of history. Looking back at say... passing yards... the SEC was a vastly different league only ten years ago. Much less fifty or so.

Dak is a less imposing Tim Tebow without the leadership capabilities. That isn't an insult considering Tebow won a Heisman and some Natties.

He's good, but not great. There is nothing wrong with being a really solid and good college QB. Maybe not great, maybe not amazing, but a steady hand who can get the job done.

My previous jab aside Dak Prescott is probably going to go down as the best Mississippi State QB. Maybe not one of the top of the top SEC QB's, but then again how many people are?

Marshall wasn't a horrible QB. He was very successful. He wasn't all SEC caliber though and was an undrafted free agent that will probably play DB in the NFL if/when he plays.

However, with all of the hype now, it sounds as though Johnson was the better of the two last year. If you are a head coach, it would seem you play your best players, regardless of the success they had the year before.

Except that he was in the top 3 in yards, completion percentage, and TD's. So obviously you really don't know what the hell you are talking about.
Not to mention his WR's we young last year. Almost all of them are back this year
