The point is I bet his offense would have scored similar points because those defenses were that bad. You're post makes it seem as they dramatically increased their offense.

Also true, but you shouldn't have to settle for field goals that many times. The fourth down play call was terrible. I'm pretty sure even Ray Charles could have known before the snap A.) What play Bama was going to run and B.)That they were going to be stopped.

They did, but a lot of those turnovers/sacks are a result of the playcalling. If it's obvious that your Oline is struggling to block their pass rush, why are you continuing to call plays that require tham to block long plays? Why are you not calling quick slants/screens to try and slow the pass rush down?
