I figured out what STAB meant

Bear with me here.

STAB was the movie within the movie in the Scream film series



The original Scream came out in 1996.

It is exactly one thousand nine hundred and ninety six miles from Austin to Gainsville.

It all makes sense.

For the records, I had a much better and longer version of this that would have ended with
Saskatchewan Roughriders coach Ken Miller being named coach at Flawda but Muschamp had to screw it all up. Go Roughriders.

You forgot to mention a stop-over at the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana - Almost exactly that distance if that route is followed.

Cowherd just missed.
Stab meant, Stoop To Accept Bid to be the next coach or something similiar but it had to do with Stoops.
