McCarron has a lot of potential. He's kind of a gun slinger, but that's something that McElwain and Saban will have no part of. I'll wait until he proves it on the field before I say he's worth a shite.

He doesn't have to be worth much for Bama to have a successful year. The defense is going to be freaking SICK! Our schedule is 100 times better than it was in '10. Hell, we only get 3 teams coming off a bye in '11 compared to 6 (SIX) in '10......

The reason Bama is #1 Preseason has very little to do with offense.

10 starters return on a defense that finished 3rd in the nation in scoring D. By the end of the season, there was no defense in the country better (not even close).

Even more - there are two D-line recruits coming from HS and JUCO that will be jaw-dropping good.

It will be difficult to favor any opponent in 2011, if Bama need only score twice to win.

Good call, & same one I made last year when some of your fan base here were proclaiming the UF offense with Brantley would actually be BETTER minus Tebow.

Bama's offense will be top 3 in the SEC next year with a top 5 national defense. Easy schedule by SEC standards. All that pretty much ensures a SEC Championship and lately that also mean MNC.

Don't worry Bammers, we all have our idiots.

The team with the most experienced talent and the favorable schedule wins the SEC. Bama had the favorable schedule in 09 and Auburn had it last year. LSU schedule has 2 loses on it.

He has been compared to Matt Ryan before. At the elite 11 when he came out of high school. His frame and demeanor are much like Ryan's, but his arm is similar Rodgers. I wasn't playing. Dudes a baller.

I don't think Alabama will be the preseason #1. That will be Oklahoma. I think Alabama will fall somewhere between 3-5.

JJ makes me think of a cross between Michael Jordan and George Jefferson.

but the guy is going to a first year starter and they have bama in the national title game??

McElroy, Newton, and Thomas were all first year starters when they played in the national title game

McElroy and Newton won the title too

Are you suggesting that is the norm, or that it will keep happening, or that is the most likely thing to happen?

And the cross between Ryan, and Rogers makes me laugh.

The truth is Bama is in the same spot this year, that Florida was in last year. A lot of question marks in offense. On paper it looks fine, in reality who knows. Maybe they will win it all- but most likely they will take their lumps.

I see LSU as a more proven commodity for next year.
