Well Oregon is probably the worst matchup against LSU.

false. Alabama and Arkansas are a lot tougher matchups.

Also your DT's are going to get ate up. Oregon will eventually wear them down.

wow. have you ever even watched football?

quote:

Alabama is just a better team. It's gonna tough for LSU to score against the tide and I think Richardson has a solid game.

tend to agree, but that game is very far away. no use in trying to prognosticate about it yet.

quote:

Arkansas is the most complete team in conference. You couldn't really shut them down last year and you won't this year either.

most complete? i dunno. they're close. depends on LSU and Alabama QB play. if they get production at that position then both > Arkansas

agreed we have to play harder and smarter vs. Arky. the Bama game just always takes so much out of us that we struggle against OM and Ark. that problem needs to be remedied.

Miss State and Ole Miss will have two of better run games in SEC and you have to go on road to play them.

okay at this point you're pretty much saying things that could be said of any team in the conference.

I'm not sure what to expect of LSU anymore. They have for years running been able to win close games whether by hook or by crook (not cheating but they seem to always wiggle off hooks ).

I would be surprised if they didn't win at least 10 with a bowl game but I don't think they have the horses to go undefeated

People think Arky is "complete" even though they are replacing Mallett, lose a ton on their OLine and their D was an achillies heel?

I don't disagree, but things are just not going to be worse than they were in 2010. It's next to impossible.

And we always finish strong because November is typically patsy time.

They came darned close to losing 7 or 8 games last year. Their luck flip flops and they're looking at a 5-7 loss season this year.

and Bama's never lucky...see Tennesse game, field-goal kicker muffs a 30 yarder that even YOU could have blocked much less that fat boy....

People are underestimating this.

Doesn't matter, brah. Only LSU is affected by losses.

Because the players will jump through a brick wall for Les Miles. That is why we keep winning. He makes them believe in themselves.

Sure, sometimes it doesn't always work (e.g. Ole Miss 2009), but it happens to often to be called a fluke or random variation. This is a pattern.

Tennessee will finish 7-5 in the reg season and 4th in the East.

There was luck in that Tenn. game in '09, but it was bad luck. UT should never have been in a position to win the game but for some flukes.

I like Les Miles but some of that stuff (what game was it where the ball bounced up on the fake fg right back into your kicker's hands maybe Florida one year?) just seems to work for him where it could be a disaster.

I wonder if the bounces go the other way a few more times in the next couple years

agreed. after 6 seasons of the same thing it stops being an aberration and becomes the norm.

It's because Tyler Wilson looked awesome throwing those 2 INTs to lose the game to Auburn.

The Wilson love reminds me a lot of how people talked about Jefferson after the 2008 Peach Bowl

those types of plays are few and far between when put into the context and scope of an entire football season. it's because of media coverage and web sites like this that make you think it happens all the time with Miles/LSU.

when you take into account how many minutes of football and how many plays are run over the course of a season.. those fluke/lucky plays get lost in the amount of normalcy.

Wasn't one of those INTs a pick 6?

What's funny is that GT's defense was better than Auburn's last season.

Well you can't get that bounce without perfect form on the toss. Thus, that was all coaching.

But seriously, Jasper was a gamer. That was a helluva play, really. Lucky, yes. But also a helluvan athletic play by our kicker.

Not only did he grab the thing on the bounce, but he got a corner, planted and cut upfield past one diving UF defender, and then sort of fell forward between three others. The guy ended up running by 4 or 5 Gators on that play, after picking the ball up off the bounce.

Pretty impressive for a kicker.
