Of course, we had to back in the 80's - 90s. We had OU out in front thanks to Barry Switzer's cheating in the 70s, and we had SMU on our tail out cheating everyone. It was either cheat or die (or in SMU's case both).

I wonder had Dickerson went to A&M what would have happened. SMU would have not or taken longer to get caught. A&M may have been caught sooner.
Dickerson in retrospect, was kryptonite to any program who got him because all of us were cheating on such a brazen level.

That lineup looks to eliminate the need for permanent cross-pod teams.

Makes more sense in that you do not eliminate UK's (2) closest teams. Knoxville and Nashville are about 3 hours from Lexington while USC and UF are overnight trips. Even when down the Dores and Vols sell well for games in Lex because of proximity.
Also, many Bama fans in the Bluegrass state

In the same vein, I don't want to feel like we are playing OOC games against other SEC teams. Having OU and OSU paired with us would steal any excitement away.

OU tried to talk with the SEC in 2010 however the SEC doesn't want OSU. (Quote from an OU booster I met on a plane ride) That's why OU was only flirting with the PAC12 in 2011 which all stemmed to the fact A&M and OU didn't receive agreed amount of cash from everything in 2010 (Appearantly we made less in 2010 than 2009.)

Don't get me wrong, I really love having Arky and A&M join us in the SEC to play teams like Alabama, Florida, UGA and UT. But like I said, while I like that old SWC teams are joing the SEC, I don't want to feel like LSU is joining them.
