Hurd is a really good back. However, he is almost zero threat to breakaway.

20+ yard runs in 2015
Webb : 7
Taylor : 8
Hurd : 10
Boom Williams : 14
Michel : 15
Collins : 16
D. Henry : 17
Fournette : 18

sounds like Hurd should be playing fullback.

That's probably where he'll end up in the NFL. Or at TE.

Hurd can also pass protect and catch the ball. Please post receiving stats :)

This thread is stupid and makes zero sense! So we comparing a what 6'4 or 6'5 250+ RB to a 6'1 230 RB that both have completely different running styles on short yardage situations? Yeah okay

Shame Hurd has to play on such a mediocre team

relevance?

regardless, Hurd averages about half as many yards per catch as does Fournette. He's not a better receiver. I know this is an argument that usually transpires when a back isn't as good running the ball, but unfortunately, Hurd isn't better catching the ball either. Look, Hurd is a solid back, but he's just not in the same league as Fournette

One of them averaged 6.31 yards per reception while the other averaged 18.14.

So, again, you should probably leave receiving out of this.

To be fair...Fournette didn't do well carrying the ball on 3rd down because he wasn't used to it...he averaged 6.24 yards per carry on 1st down and 7.41 on 2nd down...so, typically, he got the first down in 2 carries and didn't need to run it.

That being said...Hurd was a vast improvement last year over 2014...it will be interesting to see how he does another year removed from the labrum surgery.

In 2014 Hurd averaged 1.33 yards on 3rd and 1-3 yards (12 carries, 16 attempts).

That year?
