That's possible. It happened at Arky. Dale Brown was fricking pissed.

Yeah Shaq and Corliss never played. They were a year apart but we had some epic OOC games against LSU the years when Shaq was there.

We were young our first year in the SEC as Day, Mayberry and Miller had all just graduated. After the way we lost in the tournament in '92 , I think making it to the Sweet 16 that year was considered a success. They showed flashes of what was to come the next two years but they still made a lot of youthful mistakes at the time as well.

It must have been that fat frick O then.

I noticed Dale and Nolan hated each other the first few years.

This is correct.

Nolan put Big O out on the perimeter and it pretty much screwed LSU's man plans. Some great games those years

Yep, this is the reason I began following basketball really closely.

Ya'll don't remember Shaq getting into it with O then? It was for sure at Arky. There was some talent on the floor those games for sure.

I may be missing something really obvious but the '92 team went 26-8 and 13-3 in conference play. Beat LSU twice but got taken to OT in Barnhill. 3 seed in the tourney but lost to Memphis in the second round.

I remember them playing against each other. It was definitely a much talked about event beforehand. I seem to remember Big O coming out on top the majority of the time; I'm trying not to let my favoritism skew my memory of the facts.

Most definitely. I credit those games ( & Coach Richardson) for my enthusiasm for the game.

It was a great game, the OT one. Shaq got fricked over at the end of regulation, and responded to Big O. I swear I hated Arky from that point forward.

We never lost to Shaq. Ever.

Nolan had quite a streak over LSU.

Even Dale Denton called him out. That 'drewbie' character will never live that stupidity down with me.

The "Big O" was the only player I can remember who could turn a big butt into an asset.

Him and Shaq down low was a battle for sure. Those were awesome games in the early 90's.

No, they were there for our first SEC season; Day put up 40 against LSU @ LSU; he also got jobbed out of a last second winning shot @ Alabama, in one of the epic battles of those teams early in our conference tenure.

We went 26-8 (13-3) our first year in conference, and lost a second 1 possession game to Alabama in the conference tournament's second round, before dropping a game to Memphis in the round of 32, 82-80 to end the careers of May/Day/Miller.

I would laugh my arse off watching those two. There were many times I thought the O's "shorts" were going to come completely off and then he'd do a last second "pull 'em up". A lot of good ball with a touch of clownin'.
