They shouldn't release weekly rankings. They should just wait until selection Sunday and announce it just like the bball tourney

TCU wouldnt beat any of the top 4(FSU excluded), def not the top two, so who cares??? the goal is to make sure the real #1 gets to earn their spot.

Because they play a pitiful schedule, have no conference championship game and should have never been as high 3. The committee created these headaches by ever putting them that high in the first place when they never deserved it.

This is it. They got it wrong last week, got it right this week.

I also think they may have dropped FSU to 4 to more easily justify potentially dropping them out of the playoff if they lost to Tech. They just didn't expect it to backfire.

Reclaim the name Southwest Conference

I really wish they would do this. Add Houston, SMU and Rice and the only difference you have is Oklahoma and Oklahoma State instead of Arkansas.

FSU OSU and Baylor had resume improving wins, TCU did not.

Long interview also said that when Ohio St moved above TCU to 4 and TCU down to 5, the revote between TCU 5 and Baylor 6 ended with a flip.

This committee result was obvious and I've been predicting it on this board for two weeks. They finally honored the head to head in the big 12, by punishing both. Also, Champ > CoChamp; committee guidelines tell them to place heavy emphasis on championships, it's only logical for them to extend the distinction between Champ and non champ also to Champ and CoChamp.

I expect Big12 will immediately change their rules to always apply tiebreakers and submit a singular champion, but as a Baylor fan, it's torture that Big12's incompetence happens in the year Baylor was in the hunt for national title for first time in its history.

Big 12 needs a CG. No sympathy for them here.

1.No conference championship game.

Brings up an interesting question. Had there been only 1 team (TCU or BU) at 11-1 would it have made a difference with no CGG? That team would have had as many conference wins as Bama (with their CGG win) and would have played every team in the conference. Bama got to dodge S. Caro & Georgia.

So, if you want to say every conference should have a CGG, others might say every conference should play 9 conference games.

I think a great solution is to have play in games when necessary. Some years it will be clear cut who the 4 top teams are. Other years their maybe discussion between 5-8. When there's a discussion, you have a play in at the higher teams home venue. So this year TCU and Baylor would play in against OSU and FSU (4th and 3rd highest teams) at their home fields next week. The winners would slot in the final 4. Let's say there was only 1 team who had an argument (example assume TCU), that team TCU would travel to Columbus to play OSU next week to fill in the last spot.

Some years you may have no play ins, some years you may have 2, 3 even maybe 4 play ins (which would be like an 8 team playoff). The advantage of being a top ranked team is that you may not have to play a play in and if you do at least it will be at home.

The committee would determine who and how many play ins each year. That would be awesome and give them a lot of flexibility.

When everything stayed the same? Committee fricked up and this will speed up the process to 8 teams.

I blame Texas for destroying the B12.

Get a CG, and you wouldn't have this predicament. This is what they get for screwing Baylor.

TCU didn't drop three spots. Three teams jumped them by solidly beating good teams while TCU scrimmaged with Iowa State. There's a difference.

Did you look at TCU's schedule, especially its out of conference? What a shite show. Who the fukk is Samford? Not Stanford folks... Samford??? Then a horrible SMU and very average Minnesota.

How about Baylor? They too played SMU, then they played Northwestern State (not northwestern) and Buffalo. Get the fukk out of here. Both AD's should be fired for such awful schedules.

Now if the Big12 was a juggernaut OOC as a whole then you could give them some due but the Big12 was garbage as a conference this year. OU and Texas being down, killed the conference. The conferences best win was Iowa State beating Iowa or maybe OU beating Tennessee. That is awful. They've lost to Alabama, Auburn, BYU, UCLA, FSU, etc... The entire big12 OOC schedule was full of cupcakes. Schedule better, get better.

We all know the ACC can be a shite show conference some years (it was pretty good this year though). I respect FSU for scheduling Notre Dame, Florida and Oklahoma State. That's a great OOC. Take notes, Baylor/TCU.
