Committee. Only explanation there is.

Maybe they should think about playing a championship game.
It's not so simple. They would need to add 2 teams. BYU has reiterated that they don't want in a conference. They won't add 2 underserving teams just for the sake of having 12.

They did not drop three spots. They are re-ranked each week from scratch.
Agree but they did drop in the polls.

This is soviet ear bullshite. We need 8 now.

No doubt having 4 state universities with national followings was the deciding factor - OU or Texas would have gotten in at 11-1 with no CGG. Hell, all OSU had to do is beat a team that couldn't beat LSU. :)

ok so why have them jump to 3 over FSU last week??
Because FSU looked like shite against a pitiful team last week. (no offense.)

Damn, these are all some good responses. Ratings, $$$, fan base, thinking TCU would get knocked off. Thats what it boiled down to.

It's a human committee and they corrected their mistake IMO.
This is it. They got it wrong last week, got it right this week.

TCU's lone loss was on the road to #5 Baylor in a comeback. The Suckeyes lost at home by two scores to 6-6 Virginia Tech. I have to think the difference in the amount of money wielded by the two programs and the difference in fan base size played a role in the decision.

lol you can use that excuse, but they didn't do anything special against tech yesterday.

I think it is awesome. The Big 12 Commissioner ignored their league bylaws and didn't name Baylor the rightful Big 12 champ. They also don't have a Title game. Frick em and I am really going to enjoy their fans melt.

Nope. It just boiled down to who they think are the best 4 teams. TCU and Baylor just don't look as strong to them. Like the poster said...every week they reevaluate. Now, if the AP poll has tended to mirror their work this year...for example, ranking Alabama ahead of FSU...you would have to ask all those sportswriters about that.

Agree. Jeff Long is only 20 miles from Fort Worth. He should head to the nearby airport while he still has a chance.

TCU is behind both Ohio State and Baylor in the AP and Coaches Polls as well.
I agree with the committee's rankings completely.

When everything stayed the same?
Not everything stayed the same. Baylor beat the one quality win that TCU had (Kansas State). In doing that, Baylor trumped everything TCU had on their resume. The only argument for TCU left was the "best loss" argument, which is complete BS.

They beat a damn good team...which looked a helluva lot better than being a 90 yard pick six away from getting beat by a shitty team. And speaking of getting beat by shitty teams, Oklahoma didn't help them yesterday.

1.No conference championship game.
2. Baylor didn't shut the f up about being b12 champs, hiring PR firm ect ect IMO diluted the b12 waters.

If the small 9 is unhappy about this, they can fix it with three moves:
1) Fire your moron commissioner
2) Actually have 12 teams (Houston, SMU, Texas St. Tulane are available)
3) Reclaim the name Southwest Conference - Yes, it is deeply tainted, but as they say in NASCAR and Bama, "If you ain't cheat in' you ain't trying"
