The fact that 3/4 of the league can feel like with a 11-7 type SEC season they would have a chance to make the tournament is a big jump from past years. Alabama, LSU, Georgia, A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss have all had decent enough OOC runs without very many AWFUL RPI crushing losses like past years.

Not certain they get ranked that highly but we've seen enough already to know they can compete with most teams on a given day. UMass and UWV are almost certain to make the dance and even SHSU has a good shot to represent their conference. This Tiger team is a little deeper than last year's team, with much steadier guard play. I think they'll stay in the top 40 all year which should be good enough to go dancing.
