Really? The Vols probably won't.

I don't know what your definition of "soon" is, but Alabama is ahead of LSU in all-time wins by around 80 games. Alabama is going to have to regress in a big way and LSU is going to have to keep going at the same pace for that to change any time in the next good while.

You do realize that LSU fans are the only ones who have a problem with the TSIO?....who know who else plays UF and Bama every year??? That's right Tennessee....and you don't hear them crying about it.......

I'm sorry....where have you heard me whine about playing UF and Bama?

I just have a major problem with accomodating Bama for a stupid game that doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things.

I'm about doing what's best for the conference as a whole.

but that's NOT what the original comment was made for....it was to REFUTE another stupid Gump post, that spews BS, and hopes everyone believes it.

Well, whatever. I don't know why we can't just all get along. People hate me because of the team I root for without knowing anything else about me! You know who else did that? Hitler.

I only really dislike a few Gump posters on here......I'm sure it wouldn't be that way away from the board.

:well maybe with the exclusion of 1-2:

It's already getting old. I'm waiting to see if UTk goes to the Big East.

With the East Carolina addition last week, the Tennessee television market would be a homerun for what was once thought a dying conference.

Which comparable football team could we get to replace Tennessee - Coastal Carolina?

If it was Fulmer era Tennessee we would not hear a word about it from LSU fans....did you think it was unfair in the late 90's was they were beating everyone?....or in the mid-2000's when they were beating Bama's arse on a regular basis?....if they hired Gruden you and all your buddies would STFU....penciling in that loss for Bama.

FIFY

The bitching is and will be about smoothing the path for LSU to ATL.....

You'll get a response that this game is a big part of what makes the SEC so prominent, which ignores that the SEC got so prominent once more than just a few teams were really good.

We didn't have the scheduling conflict we have now.....did we?

So don't understand your argument

With an all time record of 743 - 392 I don't think that we have an inflated sense of out team's worth

I have come to the understanding that it's impossible to explain this to most LSU fans. Most of them have absolutely no concept of football existing before the year 2000. There have been many streaks, some much longer than the current one, in the Tennessee rivalry, where it looked so one-sided that it didn't matter.

Tennessee is the number 2 team historically in the conference. Not LSU.

Saying that LSU has no history prior to 2000 is just stupid.

Carry on.

I don't think they do either. I think you're getting trolled.

But let me say, and I've said this a few times on here and I KNOW people disagree with it -- I really love the pageantry of college football and everything that goes with it. And rivalries are a big part of that for me. I know the Bama-Tennessee rivalry means shite to everyone right now because Tennessee is so bad, but I don't think it will be like that forever. I don't think Tennessee got where they are solely because of Robert Neyland.

I know, I know, no one gives a shite about history or rivalries. But there is a part of me, a BIG part, that loathes the massive commercialization going on in football. The Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl? What the hell is THAT shite?

Yes, times are changing, and I recognize that. But I don't want college football to lose its identity in the chase for the big bucks. I feel like you lose more than you gain. Again, I know a lot of people disagree, and I know why you disagree, but that's just my opinion on the matter.

No one is saying that.....but your argument that TN is a dead program that will never be relevant again is equally dumb.

Which is why I'd have no problem with making it work within the system and making it impartial, and as fair as possible, for everyone.

The argument is that LSU is "afraid" of UF....we don't want them every year and it's BS. The only FAIR thing is to rotate. It makes the playing field even and quits the bitching.

LSU is in the toughest division of College Football for the last 5-6 years and we aren't scared of anyone.

When you have shite like Bama losing UGA on the schedule...it just causes problems.

Funny how it's only LSU fans who want to stop playing UF and not the other way around.

Agreed. But speaking of LSU and UF, that's gotten to be one of my favorite rivalries in all of CFB. It's a game I look forward to every year. I'd hate to see that have to go by the wayside.

But I get your argument.

Timeout...I didn't make that argument. I was just responding to CrimsonLegend's idiocy that LSU football didn't exist prior to 2000.

I just don't get why yall can't rotate. The scheduling in this league is not fair to several teams in the league...not just LSU or Tennessee.

But more importantly than the whole Bama/Tenn thing, I think it's absolutely ridiculous that the conference has made all kinds of concessions for aTm and Mizzou, instead of letting them go through proper initiation channels.

But you guys don't care about that because it didn't affect you.
