We lost to LSU last year 21-19 and the biggest difference was LF. We threw all over their secondary but could not stop the run. The guy is a man child. A pure beast. Top 10 pick for sure and trust me, he is insured to the max.

You ran 26 times for 43 yards at 1.7 YPC.

You HAD to throw because you couldn't run. And while Dak had 335 yards passing (34/54) he had 1 TD/1 INT and had a QBR of 57.4.

Uhm yeah, last year was the worse OL we've had under Mullen. It wasn't just Lsu, we struggled to run the ball on everyone.

Does he really though?

Didn't Gurley just go top 10 rehabbing an ACL?

Didn't Tyrann just became the highest paid safety in the NFL while rehabbing an ACL (2nd tear in 3 years)?

Who led the NFL in rushing last year, a 30 year old with 2 ACL repairs?

I love how Bama fans say this.

Leonard had 230 yards on 19 carries and 3 TDs with 10:29 left in the 3RD QUARTER against Auburn....

It took Derrick Henry 46 carries to hit 200 yards against Auburn, oh and he had 1 TD...

He'll leave college with 750-800 carries. Has a running back ever had that many in a college career?

They need to make a call on whether they want him to be LSU or worry about his pro career. Do you Let him build up awesome stats against the Auburns, who didnt want to tackle him, FCS schools, and pourous defenses of A&M or do they want him to be the bell cow against teams that actually have a defense. He seems to have a little propensity for getting "nicked". To LSU fans it seems they care more about pro careers than college so I would give him tons of carries against the high school defenses and limit his carries against teams that actually hit him so he can blossom as a pro. If I'm coaching I give him 45 carries a game but LSU seems to care about pro careers so I would limit him to 10 carries in games against defenses that actually have talent.

Henry had almost 100 more carries than Fournette last year.

Henry carried nearly 50 times vs Auburn.

Solid post.

Yes he is insured

He will still get a lot of carries but I expect Guice to lighten the load and to at least attempt to spread the ball out more earlier

I believe Fournette will get more touches in the passing game

WOW! Typical Bama superiority complex. Switch Fournette with Henry and Henry would have done no better. The combination of Alabama having one of the best defensive front sevens in college football history last year and LSU's lack of creativity on offense led to Fournette being bottled up by Bama. And contrary to your claim otherwise, Bama was the only team that throttled Fournette last year.

A creative offensive mind would have made Bama pay for selling out against the run. What does Miles do? Keep running Fournette into a brick wall. Bama's D-line was throwing LSU's O-line into the backfield. Bo Jackson nor Hershel Walker, and least of all Henry, could have done any better with the deck stacked against them like that.

As to Fournette getting "nicked" like you claim, when did that happen? Or are you making stuff up as you go?

And Henry played in 3 more games while leading his team to the NC.

They will use him the same way every other school uses their best players. Put in on the field and let him go.

I wonder how many more yards Henry would have got if he played the 128th, 127th, 109th ranked rushing defense and Syracuse?

It's okay to give him a lot of carries, he's usually the one bringing the boom.... but you already know about that huh?

I was hoping we could play this game...

Leonard vs Syracuse: 244 yards, 2 TDs
(with an 80 yard run called back for God knows why)
Leonard vs EMU: 233 yards, 3 TDs

Now let's look at how Derrick played against the cupcakes....

Derrick vs ULM: 52 yards, 0 TDs
Derrick vs Charleston So.: 68 yards, 1 TD

And just for fun...
Number of games Leonard had 27+ carries: 3
Number of games Derrick had 27+ carries: 7

Alabama didn't need to run Henry to beat their cupcakes.

19 carries for 228 is 12 yards a carry.
46 carries for 271 is 5.89 yard a carry.

Not sure how putting exact yards and carries for Henry helps your argument.
