No comparison for a mid sept game to a nov game.

Maybe nationally the A&M / Bama game is the bigger game because Manziel has become such a polarizing figure and the casual fan may have a greater interest in watching HIM play. Plus there is always a #1 vs #2 game every couple of years.

But...I understand that in the SEC and the fans down here would view the Bama / LSU game as the bigger game ... it certainly had more importance than a mid September game.

Less hype than 2011 LSU-Bama, but i think 2013 Bama-aTm will be a much more entertaining game... Not that that's saying much...

It's no where near the hype. I was hearing about Game of the Century well before the week of the game.

Also, no one actually believes this will be a close game. Everyone knew what we were going to see in 2011. This may feature an amazing display of athleticism by Johnny Football. But it most likely will be a 34-10 blowout by Alabama.

I do not really see the same hype for this game as the 2011 game had because there are still so many unanswered questions surrounding both of these two teams.

That being said, I know plenty of people in Tuscaloosa absolutely will not shut up about this game and how badly they want to embarrass the Aggies on their home field. The fans are ready and I can only imagine the media that the coaching staff has pumped into the minds of the players will make for a pretty pissed off Alabama team.

Agree. Game of the Century and not even close. However. if this was in November with both undefeated, probably bigger just because then you would have 2 QB's probably in the Heisman mix as a nice side angle.

Not even close. The whole country knew how evenly matched LSU and Bama were that year (as well as most years). The only reason the nation cares about this game is because everyone wants to see JFF schooled.

A&M is about to bring a knife to a gunfight with that horrid defense; if they have any hope at all, their OL and Manziel better play the game of their life because their defense is up to Sun Belt and C-USA standards at best.

I think you will see bigger hype for A&M/Bama...mainly because of the hint of offense. BOTH Bama and LSU were defensive machines in 2011, and, while that is the way to win, it makes for boring football.

Add to that, that Bama's OLine made them look vulnerable, and the hype will go through the roof.

I think Bama will get their OLine problems straightened out...no worries, there. But A&M has a great Offense. A&M's defense looks putrid, so....it makes for a potentially high scoring game. 27-24, and I have no earthly idea who wins!

Both excellent teams, and both could potentially win the Natty. One with offense and one with defense.

No way the same. That regular season game was all ESPN or any news outlet talked about for those solid 2 weeks since we had a bye.
This time seems like it's too early for that much devotion, especially with the NFL coming back this weekend

everyone had that 2011 game circled and the two teams just took care of business until the big game. Hype for this game game feels a bit forced. There is nothing to this years game other than revenge and top ten.

2011 had the previous years building to the epic climax that was a 9-6 defensive bore fest.

The story leading up to the game will be about Manziel and if the Bama D can contain him . The story after will be about how pourous the Texas AM defense is. Rice ran through them like a knife through butter.

Reminds me a little more of the Alabama-Arkansas hype in 2010-2011, but if you added Manziel.

The ALabama-LSU hype was more like the Alabama-Florida hype during the SECCG.

No where even close.

LSU Bama 2011 had the most hype of any game I can remember. This weekends game isnt even in the same ballpark.

It's big because it's a big game that could decide the west, SEC and have national title implications. Thats it. How does it compare? The season isn't very old so you haven't had the time. I know its a game we have discussed most days and I talked to an ex co-worker in Houston yesterday and he said it was getting big time coverage out there. Nothing else, even the Texans are not being the subject. It's this game. He said it may be the most anticipated game in the history of the school. It's only gonna get bigger as we go along.
