Not close, the game is too early in the season. If both teams were undefeated and played in November then it would really amp up.

There's been build up for this game for months.

I remember talking about how big the Alabama-LSU game was going to be in October because it was a foregone conclusion that both would be undefeated since both were so good. Contrary to what many LSU fans think, ESPN/media was already talking about rematch before the game was played

I hope you are just describing the story run with by the media and not what you actually believe.

Also, similar to the Clemson vs UGA game, I have no idea who to root for. I know that A&M won't go undefeated, even if they win this game. I feel similar about Alabama, just not as strongly. Both fan bases are insufferable.

Both Texas A&M have weak-arse schedules, A&M even more so. I'll just root for A&M and wait for LSU to destroy them later in the season.

In terms of hype, I'd compare this one to Alabama-Arkansas in 2011

Oh, it's a pretty big game.

On one side you've got the best coach in the business, and on the other side an almost unstoppable player that many out there love to hate.

So the ingredients are there for- as someone put it earlier- some really great theatre.

Seriously.

The hype around that game was all time. Insane leading up to it. Both teams had byes as well.

As long as LSU doesnt suck it up and lose 3-4 games before 11/23/13... I would say the LSU/A&M game will get more hype than this one is getting/will get. Just because of history and the fact is the so late in the season, with possible BCS implications on the line (more likely true for A&M).

Please, there's a Johnny Cam for god's sake. This is the biggest game to ever be played in Kyle Field. Just a tad more hype than Arkansas @ Bama 2011.

This weeks game has much more hype and may have the highest tv rating of any college game ever.

Manziel is the anti-Tebow leading A&M against bad boy Bama in a game sure to have offensive fireworks.

Not even close. That November 2011 matchup was the most anticipated ever between the undisputed and well proven #1 and #2 teams in the country. 2 elite teams with flat out NASTY defensive teams.

This is just September; A&M is not even top 5 their D is pathetic.

This one seems to be yet another hype circus.

For fans, i think there is less hype, because most of us (unfortunatley so) know bama is going to win, probably fairly easily.

For TV...well yea it's their money maker so sure they're going to hype it.

Not even close.

The whole week before 11/5 I was literally in knots. It was almost too much anticipation.

This week, meh, I'm fine.

If ATM had a pulse on D and Bama had a pulse on O it would be huge.

Sadly, both ATM and Bama will lose games this year.

True

2. Saban-LSU

Meh. A rematch of arguably the most entertaining game last season is a storyline in itself. Saban in a revenge game, Aggies the only team to beat Bama last year, etc. Saban-LSU isn't a factor that makes the game in 2011 bigger than this one

3. November, instead of September

This is a huge truth. If this game was later in the year it would be much bigger than it already is

The 11/5 hype was also driven by the fans, and not just by the media. That's the real difference between that game and this week's vs. A&M
