Yeah, you didn't score 20 points in either of those games. If that's what you're pointing to to make your case, you're just proving my point. They scored 12 points against one of the worst SEC defenses I have ever seen.

9 to 10 returning starters from an offense that frankly wasn't very good at all last year. And the same staff will be running the offense. I see no reason why LSU should expect much improvement on offense, just my honest opinion

yet we were 1 yard from beating bama and winning the West.

all they need is to be more efficient and experience will help that. LSUs offense shot itself in the foot time after time. they have the talent to get it done.

Offense wasn't the reason LSU was one play away. Are you really hyping an offense for scoring 17 points at home in a game you lost?

Right, but you were closer to 5 losses than 0. And even the most rational of fans would have to admit that it's highly probable that LSU won't be as good next year.

The simplicity of this game amuses me. Bring me your finest meats and cheeses.

Our offense just never put it together in 2012. I'm excited by the potential because Mett showed flashes but I agree with you LSU disappointed on offense in 2012 (esp compared to most of 2011).

The potential should be there though. Mett seems like a guy with the confidence and ability. The OL should not be the mash unit it was from the start of 2012. Our top running backs return.

LSU offense was terrible in the 1st half. We only scored 3, that put LSU in a huge hole.

Offense has the talent, but it is a question mark going into next season.

And you don't think the scheme has anything to do with it? Les is still going to be running the offense next year. The personnel will still be the same. Can you not see that it's reasonable to think the offense will suck again?

You guys sure are having to quibble over a bunch of reasonable points to make your argument. Can you at least admit that it's reasonable to think LSU might struggle next year? At least try to be rational.

Of course it is

No one knows what kind of LSU squad will be there next year. It is reasonable for someone to look at their schedule and figure they are an easy pick for #3 in the west next year and #4 if they stumble.

It is also reasonable to think they are a team with the talent and experience to win the SEC if they can upset Bama or A&M. The schedule is against them but if they put things together (like they did in 2011 after being meh in 2010) they could be an incredible team.

LSU is a team with an incredible range of possibilities for 2013. It just depends what kind of hard work and leadership emerges or doesn't between now and August.

If LSU can cut out the drops by the WRs and the OL can pass block better, LSU offense from last season, becomes a good bit better.

I know all you wanna do is look at stats and throw out blanket assumptions because I know you dont watch LSU, but that's the truth. The OL was in shambles and the WRs had way too many drops.

We had a really young offense last year. All the WRs were young, 1st year QB, LT goes down for the season. Had 2 freshman at RG and RT. It was a young offense.

If the offense doesnt get better, and the DL cant stop the run. Yea, we could struggle. and yes the schedule is tough to boot.

You're welcome.

By the same standard will you admit that LSU is a team with the talent, experience and potential to overcome their schedule and win the SEC if they improve modestly on offense in 2013?

I mean, it's possible, but much more likely that they struggle. that's just what I see when I look at the numbers, roster, and schedule.

RE: the schedule I have to agree with you

RE: the roster and numbers? Not so much. They return a lot of starting experience (we can argue about who has more between LSU and Alabama) and have played a shite ton of true freshman and sophomores over the last few years. The OL should be healthier, the starting RBs are back, the QB should be one year better, and the young WRs should be better.

There's a lot of room for optimism regarding everything except the schedule if you are a LSU fan. You'd never know that reading the Rant FWIW

Are you serious? Have you watched any LSU games since Les Miles became the coach?

LSU struggles in EVERY game, and yet somehow manages to win most of them. Nothing new. LSU struggled the last time they played in Tuscaloosa - and won. LSU struggled last year at College Station - and won.

How'd that struggle with A&M go for Alabama last year?
