A&M 7-1(beats Bama, just like last year, but worse, but LSU gets a miracle)
Alabama 7-1(loses to Johnny Football... again)
LSU 6-2(beats A&M and Florida, but loses to Alabama and Georgia)
Ole Miss 3-5(beats State, Auburn, and Arkansas... gets rolled by Mizzou and Vandy)
Arkansas 2-6(beats State, Auburn)
Auburn 2-6(beats State, UT)
State 1-7(Beats Kentucky)

LSU runs a 4-3, minter is leaving for the draft, and you're counting 3 returning starters at lb. something tells me you're not counting starters the same way for bama. maybe that's just me though,

What happened here is that Tahj Jones was a starter at OLB but was on academic probation all year. We rotated a number of true freshmen in his stead, including Kwon Alexander and Lamar Louis.

We lose Minter, yes. However, we return TONS of experience from last year in the linebacking corps.

Barrow moves inside and will lead the unit as a 5th year Sr. T. Jones is back. Alexander and Louis have starting experience. D. Jones and Feist played a lot last year. We're deep.

Tahj Jones was projected to start this year then got suspended but he started the bowl game. Barrow had over 100 tackes and Kwon started before injuring himself.

that's 3 "starters" right? plus debo jones looked very good as a 2nd stringer and lamar louis played a ton but didnt really wow me.

our only question on defense is the line

people tend to forget that LSU plays arguably the most freshmen and sophomores than anyone in the country

so any player who started a game or was projected to counts as a returning starter. might want to go back and recount for bama then.

LSU lost more juniors than any school in history. that is a fact.

Agreed.

If you are looking for a weak spot on LSU's team, it is the defensive line. We will have a good first team for sure, with Rasco-Freak-Ego-Hunter. We may just lack some quality depth.

However, the cavalry is arriving. Frank Herron can play now. Kendell Beckwith will play as a pass rush specialist ala Mingo his RSFR year.

We'll have all the parts, but some of them will be young.

You keep repeating that, but it is a meaningless statement. What is important is the number of players a team loses, not what year they were in school.

This point is clearly lost on you, but then again you do strike me as someone of below average intelligence.

That's what I said. I have also explained why.

Right, and your explanation was laughable. Any rational LSU fan would admit that losing 10+ NFL caliber underclassmen is not meaningless. If you think it is, then lol at you sir.

LSU played more freshman than anyone in the SEC. FACT.

LSU has these guys with starting experience or alot of playing experince in the back 7.

Kwon, Barrow, Debo Jones, Lamar Louis, Tahj Jones at LB

Loston, Eugene, Martin, Mills, Collins in the secondary.

FACT

sorry if that upsets you.

It was quite logical, actually. Why does it matter if the players were Juniors or Seniors?

What matters is how many starters a team loses. LOL all you want, but you seem to be missing a plainly obvious point.

Ok you guys are right. Senior leadership is meaningless. Losing 10+ NFL caliber underclassmen in a single season is meaningless. And LSU is #1, geaux tigers!

they dont understand this.

they are putting way too much stock into LSU losing guys like Ware and Ford.

Hell the worst players in LSUs secondary last year were Reid and Simon. Reid was awful last year. Getting trucked by North Texas RBs, getting juked out by Bo Wallace. Hell, any safety at LSU could have done what Reid did last year.

If yall wanna keep hiding behind the 10 players left early, be our guest. We only had maybe 2 SRs that played last year. If LSU has a couple DL step up, the D will be just fine.

Meaningless in the sense it is not a loss? You're right that would be wrong

But it does seem like the same type of loss many teams experience when they have up to 10 players leave for the draft as seniors (if those seniors or juniors from different teams contributed at similar levels and played as many years at their respective schools)
