He was Alabama's DB coach all of two years. And the DC at FSU all of one season. But yeah, it's the lack of his presence that led to a drop off. It could never be losing great players off of title teams. And of course neither had great defenses before Pruitt.

Considering they played a better USC and Missouri Offense in 2013, along with LSU instead of a running Ark team, their schedule had a lot to do with Pruitt success.

Bama always has 5 star talent all over the field.

FSU lost more players to the NFL before 2013 than they did before 2014. The opposite would need to be true for your point to have merit.

Good for Georgia! I wish all players stayed in state!

We don't get players from Georgia so the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Well, the state had 248 FBS signees in 2015...4th in the country and should surpass California in the next 5 years. Also, second only to Florida in signees per participant.

Its virtually impossible to "lock down" the boarders but we are doing a bettter job of keeping the top kids in state especially since Pruitt has been here.

I can't believe you actually think that Pruitt was the reason for our great DB play during the title years. That is hilariously delusional. Last year we had two CBs coming off/suffering through injuries, but I guess if Pruitt were here they'd magically have been healed. During the title years we had starters who were high draft picks, but I guess that is because of Pruitt, too.

Interesting that the same Pruitt who can transform teams cannot stop a struggling UF from running all over his defense. What happened that game? Did Pruitt forget how to coach?

42 of the 98 players on Auburn's roster for 2015 are from Georgia.

GTFO of here with this 'lockdown' bullshite!!!

Its common for coaches to get credit for their players success or failure. Are you saying coaches have nothing to do with it?

For this "lack of quality CB" point to have merit, your CB's would have to have been worse than ours last year, which isnt the case. Maybe you didnt know that we started a walkon.

How is your DL recruiting going right now with UGA offered GA residents?

He didn't crash the Mercedes. Congrats for that, I guess.

I'd also say that competition factors in. UGA played just two teams in the top 40 for total passing yards last year. Alabama, on the other hand, played five top 40 teams for passing yards.

UGA also gave up more ypg and ppg than Alabama did last year.

Couldn't tell you. I haven't had time to keep up with recruiting much being in Afghanistan. I know Auburn is not high in the rankings right now but that will change during and after the season. Muschamp doesn't have to field a top ten d and I do believe after the dumpster fire that has been the Auburn D the past few years that the D is going to surprise a lot of people this year and Muschamp and Rodney Garner the D-line coach will get theirs. Maybe not from Georgia, but they will not be lacking talent.

Bama had mercedes talent at DB last year, while UGA had ford focus talent.

Oh, you were serious?

Hold on...

Landon Collins (2nd rounder) Nick Perry (undrafted) Jabriel Washington (likely will be undrafted this year), Geno Smith (probably undrafted as well) Eddie Jackson (Just four months after tearing his ACL) Cyrus Jones (played through hip injury, got surgery on it in February)

Yeah, a real Mercedes there

You are going with a specific position group to try to prove a very fallible point. D-Linemen are not the only thing Auburn recruits out of Georgia.

Auburn has always had lots of players on their roster from the state of Georgia. If you think that UGA can completely lockdown the state of Georgia from Auburn you have gone full retard!!!

Context man: In comparison to UGA.

We really wanted JW and GS in recruiting fyi.
