Actually nope. The trees at Auburn were already dieing and were on very limited time.

Which makes what he did that much dumber.

This link is from way back in 2007.

Too Late for Toomer's Trees by Auburn Alumni Association

But they were still making efforts to keep them.

Tree experts giving makeover to Auburn’s historic Toomer’s oaks

Got to love Bama fans and their comprehension of the trees. Quite comical.

Meyer is a shining example of integrity and honesty and we should look to him and a man who brokered his son like a slave as examples of what the truth must surly sound like.

Forgive me if I choose to treat what any of those individuals have to say with heightened skepticism.

Cam developed after florida, also stated by Meyer.

Developed in the sense that he filled out his frame? Because nobody at Auburn taught that kid to do what he did on a football field. That was full-on god-loves-me-better-than-all-you-silly-fricks talent. He would have excelled anywhere, Auburn or UF or Moo State (but fatties gotta pay).

In 2011, maybe it was. Why would we give a shite about a rival's 5 year old title when we've beaten you like rented mules three times since?

Okay, so you choose to believe myth as opposed to reality. Makes sense, doesn't show any butthurt at all.

Keep on, keeping on. Maybe make a Fairley reference, it will only help.

Because Keef Kneebur tweeted it so it is true. He hasn't been wrong yet. He knows things.

Lol Florida wasn't beating LSU in 2011. Not with Cam Newton, not with Joe Montana, not with anybody.

2010 LSU would have won the SEC though.

This is fun. I have a want to play.

If Katrina and Rita don't frick up things in 05....LSU doesn't play all those weeks in a row, plays Tenn on a Saturday instead of Monday, beats UGA and wins the national championship (2 in 3 years), sparking a dynasty in which a fired up LSU is lead to back to back titles by JaMarcus Russell in 06.

07 happened like it should have.

On to 2008, where Ryan Perrilloux is desperate for the keys to the 3 peating LSU Tigers and keeps himself out of trouble. Because of that, Jarrett Lee never threw 400 pick sixes and thanks to the 3 peat, hot defensive co-coordinators are beating down Miles door to replace Pelini be a part of the success...Mall-eveto never happens and the defense is much better. This, combined with RP's self predicted Heisman win propels LSU to an unprecedented 4th championship in a row and overall 4th title in 6 years. Meanwhile in Alabama, when offered the Bama gig last year Saban was like "well frick that" and decided to go to Michigan in 08.

You get the idea. By this point, LSU has won 10 championships in a row and has ruined college football for all of you. Miles is simultaneously serving as LSU head coach and Governor of Louisiana. Education has been overhauled and school children are now taught the importance of maintaining quality verbiage. A trait of which they certainly enjoy to discover.

TL;DR: Katrina ruined everything but your enjoyment of college football.

The tidal wave of butthurt catalyzed by Newton is as unparalleled as his dominance over the SEC.

Technically you are both correct. He finished his senior year in 2007 and also played TN in 2007 as a freshman.

This is a pretty thought-provoking "what if". Amazing how one college kid's indiscretions - or criminal behavior (depends on whose ox is being gored) - can affect such a vast network around him. No guarantee Cam is the AU version of Cam if he had stayed at UF, but you know he would have been damned good.

One result the OP didn't mention: One or two years of Cam as LSU's permanent cross-division rival would have sparked at least another 4,397 schedule threads.

The police and evidence say otherwise. Spin it how you want to.

Newton has said he bought the laptop and didn't steal it, but the UF police report tells a different story. After Newton was arrested, police reported overhearing him say on his cell phone that "there was a computer, and I took it." A few minutes later he said he threw the laptop out the window because his room was about to be searched, according to police.
