So UGA never winning a BCS title and their biggest rival Auburn winning one has nothing to do with hate? lulz. K.

We know Nick Fairley and 2013 added some fuel.

Honestly, State would have beaten Auburn that year instead of losing a nail biter. Which would have given Mullen 10 wins in year 2, which would have left us without a coach. I for one am glad he was a TPOS.

Did he kill anyone while playing for the Gators? Hernandez was drafted in 2010...crimes he committed after have nothing to do with Florida

OK while at Florida... this was known, CUM got him off..

A 2007 police report that documents an attempted homicide in Gainesville, Fla. mentions former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez by name.

Hernandez, who is currently being held in prison without bail after being charged with first-degree murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, was a 17-year-old freshman at the University of Florida in 2007. Various media outlets reported that Massachusetts police are working with officers in Florida to find if Hernandez is connected to the case, but the Gainesville Police Department issued a statement disputing those reports.

Cason told officers on scene that a Hawaiian or Hispanic male standing around 6-foot-3 with a muscular build and a lot of tattoos walked up to the vehicle and quickly fired five shots. He then ran off with another man, identified as Reggie Nelson, a former Florida player who was a rookie safety for the Jacksonville Jaguars at the time.

In the days following the incident, Cason identified Hernandez as the second suspect, but later rescinded his identification of both Hernandez and Nelson. Several other witnesses identified the shooter as a black male.

An officer found four .38-caliber shell casings at the scene.

When interviewed by police, Nelson acknowledged that he was at the nightclub, called The Venue, where he ran into Hernandez and Mike and Maurkice Pouncey, who both now play in the NFL. Nelson said Hernandez told him Cason stole a chain from one of the Pouncey twins.

After the club closed, one of the twins told Nelson the same story and pointed out Cason. Nelson approached Cason and asked for the chain back, but Cason said he had already given it away. Nelson claims he then told Cason he didn't want any trouble and walked away.

Hernandez wasn't as cooperative and the report says he invoked his right to counsel when contacted by police on Oct. 9. Cason rescinded his identification of the two suspects the same day.

Do y'all seriously believe this? Auburn winning the title in 2010 has absolutely nothing to do with the recent hate in this series.

lolololol

I'll explain since you probably haven't come to grips with your own emotions about it.

UGA was fairly long suffering in its drought. It saw rival UF win titles, saw GT win one, saw UT win one, etc. But even in getting largely smoked in its own division, it could exert some pride over it's pseudo-little bro Auburn, who it surpassed academically as HOPE arose and which has the misfortune of being in far rural west Georgia.

Then, 2010 came. UGA's world was turned over. UGA fans everywhere started scowling and foaming at the mouth at former AU friends. It has truly been an ugly affair. It seems to be calming somewhat, but as threads like this exhibit, it's always lurking below the surface.

no he wasnt, the head of the committee even said so

Yes, he was dismissed from the team for the laptop theft incident.

umm...no he wasnt. Your coach at the time tried to convince him not to transfer.

On November 21, 2008, police arrested Newton for stealing a laptop computer from a student at the University of Florida. He was subsequently temporarily suspended by the team after the laptop was in fact found to be in his possession. Investigators tracked the stolen laptop to the athlete. Newton tossed the computer out his dorm window in an attempt to hide it from the Police. (A friend scooped up the laptop and hid it behind a dumpster at a nearby school building). Newton was suspended indefinitely and announced his intention to transfer three days before Florida's national championship win over Oklahoma. All criminal charges against Newton were dropped after he completed a court-approved pretrial diversion program. Foxsports.com reported that Newton left the University of Florida after the fall semester in 2008 rather than face suspension or expulsion in part because of three instances of academic cheating.

So....what else do you think you know?

Okay, so he was suspended, that is known. You stated he was dismissed, which he wasnt. Your coach tried to convince him to remain on the team. But I guess according to you he was dismissed.

The head of the panel said he would not have been expelled and the instances were all rumors and never confirmed. But please continue to tell us what you think you know, despite facts and all.

He was suspended from the team Indefinitely...that's about as close to dismissed as you can get. And again, I've seen nothing to show where Urban tried to convince to stay on a team he just suspended him from...please show me.

Newton was caught after the instructor asked the real author of the paper why he had not turned in his work.

Newton turned in a second paper to the instructor, but that paper was later found to have been purchased off the Internet.

Really...I understand defending the guy because he was your QB, but guilty is guilty. He did the shite and got caught. Deny it all you want.

I rarely see this being brought up by UGA fans. Now, Auburn fans bring it up all the time, but the majority of UGA fans don't really care about Auburn's championship 5 years ago. Do we want to win one? Of course we do, but the fact that y'all did it recently has no effect on us at all.

Nope. Georgia fans don't sit around "suffering." It boils down to the 2010 GAME and the way Auburn fans handled it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Until this dam thread I couldn't even tell you what year AU won the dam MNC. They want so badly to be in someones head for some reason. It would crush them to know how little we care.

And NYC- UGA fans don't bring up AU and 2010; but it finds its way into every thread about the schools....and many threads that aren't about the two schools.

This is why I'm so convinced it is 2010. The way Auburn fans handled it? LOL.

We definitely have some rude folks, but UGA fans are at least 75% responsible for upping the hostility between the two schools. I'm sure the stories we have coming out of Athens are overblown (the spitting, oh the spitting), but there are a ton of accounts of reasonable AU people getting shite on at your place and merely a handful of UGA fans being mistreated at ours.

I just fail to see the relevancy. This isn't a thread about "what if Hernendez wasn't a POS." If you want to discuss that, make your own thread. It has zero bearing on the Cam Newton discussion...so quit deflecting.

It has been an ugly affair and would be regardless of AU and the MNC. Most bush league shite I've ever seen. Nick did what mean, nasty players do. But your shatty coaches allowing that crap to go on- especially johnny towel boy backwards hat...what a joke.

The rivalry is mean spirited and will be for a while. And that is 100% AU.

I'm bringing Jolly Ranchers to the game in 2016 so I can keep a steady flow of spittle going.
