Well Bama actually out gained LSU by around 60 yds in '14 but yes in the end only the score matters. LSU won the game fairly in 2011 9-6 game but Bama was the better team by the end of the year.

Saban didnt trust AJ enough in the first game. We aired it out more in the second game and won handily.
You continue to underwhelm me. you Had one touchdown that game late in the game when we wore out. Other than that your fieldgoal kicker had an incredible night making something like 6 fieldgoals. We had bad field position the entire night and that was mostly from great defensive play from Bama. Our defense played great all night as well keeping Bama out of the endzone most of the day with their backs against the wall. anyone that watch that game knows Bama hardly won handily.

Jim McElwain, Nick Saban and Cade Foster shite the bed. End of story.

Eric Reid made that INT fair and square, it was clean. I came into this thread to say Eric Reid. Eric Reid was the reason LSU won. What should've been Bama's ball on the one, was robbed by an incredible play by Reid. With the way the defenses were playing, a TD right there would've sealed the deal IMO.
With Williams being a 6'6" he shouldve of muscled through and made the catch.

Wut? A 21 point shut out is the definition of winning handily, broseph.

LSU outgained Alabama by over 100 yards in 2012 and still lost. Talk about choking away a game. In 2014, Alabama outgained LSU 315-259.

I think that was the best Bama team of all time. The fact that LSU beat that team speaks volumes on how good that 2011 LSU team was.

That was a game for the ages and the most intense college game I've watched imo

You wouldn't think that a low scoring game would be entertaining, but that was a game where you were glued to your seat. In these days of high scoring offenses, that was old school and fun to watch, despite the outcome.

Bama's kicking game sucked but none of those kicks were easy. They missed FG's of 44, 49, 50, and 52 yards. LSU was the better team that night.

2/6 on FG's is how.

Alabama had the advantage on pretty much all the stats except for FG's and where it mattered the most - the scoreboard.
Not to mention the gifted interception that was apparently making up for 2009.

I was about to come and post that the 11 LSU team was the best I've ever seen (except for the QB). That game was two of the best teams of all time meeting each other.
The NCG that year was an example of how coaching in the college game is the most important factor. Saban outcoached Miles.
And anyone that brings up that Bama missed field goals as the only reason they lost doesn't know shite about football.

Feel free to check the box score yourself.

FG's were everything in that game because of how important field position was.
Alabama pretty much lead in all the other stats, or it was pretty much even. Alabama pass more, LSU ran more is the only difference. Oh, and of course FG's.

When your kicker isn't that good you can't expect him to be money on anything 45+.
It's not like bama had billy Bennett out there like uga had to in 03. He was an all world kicker and missed a few easy ones. Nothing close to 50 yards. They don't cry about that game and how they SHOULD have won in Death Valley.
Those were low percentage kicks to start with then you add in the pressure.

Dude, no one is "crying". Someone asked "why did Alabama lose" and some fans responded with "missed FGs". It's a legit answer to the original question.
