DK if it can be done, but if I had to bet money on a coach who could do it, it would be Saban.

We had a horrible game plan for Cam.

^^^ This. Chavis has always struggled with mobile QBs.

Alabama won't be sitting back waiting on Cam like we did. You can book that shite right now.

With their weak secondary.. you think this is a good idea? I have no idea how I'd defend Cam.. but it starts up front.

To me, the offense they run is a spread-out version of the old triple option, like the wish bone, the box, or the veer. Yeah they are all different in some ways, but basically on every play he has a read that tells him whether to give it to the back, pull it and run, or pull it and pass. They run variations of other things in there like QB draws, and some pass plays. It seems as though they are good at exploiting whatever area of your defense lacks proper fundamentals. The advantage Bama has is that they are pretty solid fundamentally. I may be way off, but I feel if they play the running aspect with 7-8 guys in the box, as they would any of the option style offenses, and do a good job in pass coverage, like... NOT LETTING FOLKS RUN BY YOU UNCOVERED, they will control the game well enough to give their offense a chance to win it. Like the one poster said, they won't shut down this offense of AU's, but they can limit it's success, by playing disciplined defense specifically designed to stop the triple option. On every scenario, to every direction, each defender MUST know who his man is, or what area of the field is his, and ignore EVERYTHING else. When defenders start "trying to make plays" as many do now days, AU is immediately going to pick up on it, and exploit it. It is more about the OC than it is Cam really. He gets his best guy the ball in space, ALL THE TIME.... a concept LSU fans are unfamiliar with.

More simply, they are an offense that counters everything you try to accomplish as a defense. That's why you see so much misdirection, counters, reverses, and draws, and that's why CN is quite often in open space.
