Why is USC's resolution so shitty? That looks like a jumbotron image from the mid-90s.

That's just from the camera that took the pic. Look up any Carolina vid where you can see that thing and the resolution is fine.

Ours works just fine. See? It can keep score and everything.

Ole Miss's is fine, and I'm liable to step on it here because I've been to VHS twice since Kyle so I don't know if Aggies do the same damn thing. But what seemed really odd to me at VHS wasn't the visible ads but the full audio/video ads during TV timeouts. That just seemed really weird. But I may just be out of it. Does everybody do this now?

I think ours wins most ads:

That said, it's plenty big, don't really care to have anything else. Already a bit ridiculous IMO.

No, not like that. (And that one wouldn't have struck me as weird at all.) More like Al's Muffler Shop kinda stuff. It will be another year+ before I go there again, so you're welcome to tell me I'm full of shite before then.

FIFY. You've posted this before, and LSU fans have explained that was because an ad contract that covered two screens had to be fulfilled with one. Because the south end zone video screen was torn down for the expansion.

Old South End Zone video screen

LSU goes into 2014 with three video screens now. All of them will feature HD, a huge upgrade from before.

South End Zone Expansion showing corner screens, both HD (ads will go on white squares)

North End Zone screen, now with HD

Ours is plenty big enough. Jumbo trons are more of a distraction than anything.

This^^^^^^ Nothing takes the noise out of a stadium like people stopping to turn and watch the replay on the Jumbotron. It drastically negates the advantage of the large stadium.

As I mentioned above...I am not a fan of the jumbotron. That being said, here is a shot of UT's.

Jumbotrons are a blight on college football. Why not just stay home and watch the game on TV if all you do is watch the jumbotron at the game?

Jumbotrons are great for showing replays and closeups of people in between plays. It adds value to the experience of people who appreciate it, and its being there doesn't mean you have to look at it if you don't want to.
