The 09 UF team was way, way, way, way more talented than 2010 Bama. Everyone knew Bama was going to drop a few games that year. The back end of the defense was AWOL. Compare 2010 Bama to 2007 UF and that is more plausible.

You have to examine the context of 09 UF and Bama. Bama was not as good as UF, on paper. UF should have won that game by at least 14 points. That was the best roster in the history of CFB. Tensions, favoritism, having big party the week of the SECCG, and best pass rusher, Dunlap, drunk driving arrest that week - that was indicative of the 09 UF team, unfortunately.

UF came out in that game flat, coaching was bad, players didn't execute. Bama came out focused, angry about 2008, and beat UF down physically and in every other way. When you're Meyer, and you have issues already, and you roll into a game with the team that is unquestionably the best in the nation, and you get beat to a pulp - a guy like that hits the eject button. 08 Bama was great. 09 Bama was too, but 09 UF was even better. If Meyer couldn't win with Tebow and Spikes, both Pouncey brothers, and all that other talent, how was he ever going to match up against Saban?


Meyer's staff at OSU is not as good as what he had at UF, and his team isn't as good. You have to look at who's actually doing the heavy lifting. And to borrow from the sjw's, you have to look at the triggers. Success and expectation are triggers for him. That is why Saban is so much better. Spurrier could handle the big moments too. McElwain is much the same.

Harbaugh is about to crush Meyer's soul this week.

All of those players were starters on the 2010 team. All of them, other than Barrett Jones, are now starters in the NFL. Four of them are probably going to be Pro Bowlers this year.
