That was blazingly fast. It took UF seemingly a month to build an IPF...

They worked around the clock to ensure it would be done before the season started.

Is A&M aiming for LEED certification with this new building?

I'm sure they are. The newer "ETED" engineering building is.

And I generally agree about the over-hyped nature of the designation, AU, but A&M currently requires all new construction be at least LEED Silver. So, there's 5 or 6 on campus already.

I gave up Architecture for Lent some years back...

Too many new buildings on SEC campuses look like shite because they are all built on such a pathetic budget.

I hear ya. Also, a lot of campuses want different sections of the campus to sport different looks. To mixed results.

At LSU, the new classrooms were all proposed along a modern interpretation of the classic campus look.

Examples would include...

E.J. Ourso College of Business

LSU STUDIO ARTS BUILDING

...and the first renderings for the College of Engineering's Patrick F. Taylor Hall...

...which were thankfully discarded in favor of a design more in line with traditional LSU campus architecture...

Edit: PATRICK F. TAYLOR HALL EXPANSION

Not sure, really. Couldn't find anything on the architect's page....

Kudos to LSU for jumping on the LEED certified building bandwagon but I'm actually surprised it took this long..

It didn't. That was my mistake. Cypress Hall is just LSU's first LEEDS-certified Residence Hall. I corrected my last post.

The first LEEDS-certified building for LSU was the LSU Hilltop Arboretum’s Education Facility, built in 2013.

What A&M did to their stadium in such a short amount of time is crazy and is top notch. However, y'all should never show this view and then tell people y'all spent $500 million.

Nothing special on the outside at night.

Also nice of A&M to put a picture of an LSU player up in their locker room.

Well, it looks like they don't have much of the exterior lighting on so that may have something to do with it. It's just that side of the stadium. It's terrible. That end zone is not what they need to be showcasing that's for sure.

Wait. Aggy told me we aren't a rival. What gives?

Well they've got fake bricks plastered over metal beams but left that part of the erector set showing. Beautiful.

How much more is going to be done to that end zone?
