That's not a technicality. That's a ridiculous thing to do and think you can get away with. Have you ever worked with contracts? You change one thing and both parties re-sign.
Agreed. The case certainly looks like Chavis was lying and in fact was working for Aggie while he was supposed to be working for LSU. The technical argument just saved his argument....maybe.
I'm glad hes gone though we had to suffer with Steele and that was no good obviously. I'm sure he's more happy with the better offense and stability in College Town anyway. Everyone wins here.

If Chavis is not credible, if the factfinder believes he is lying, the factfinder is going to do everything he can to find that the changes were not material.
I use the term factfinder because I'm not following the case and have no idea if a judge or jury will be the factfinder.

Lol OK. I'm not a a&m fan. But in the long run as of now LSU is not better off. To be honest I think miles hit his peak a few years ago. Just like a&m y'all need a better coach. But then agian y'all have recruited exquisitely lately.

shite we still don't have a ton of decent Mexican places imo. One area where NOLA is lacking. I will say it's improving though.

You're saying "factfinder" too much.

And you know that how? Your new DC, while I'm sure will ultimately be fine, hasn't coached a game in the SEC yet.
He's had 3 really good years as a DC and 3 very average years as a DC. He's trending well, with 2 of his last 3 seasons (all at Wisky) being good, but he's also crapped the bed a few times. He gave up 35 to Bama in the opener last year and 59 to OSU in conf title game year before.
Like I said, I'm sure he'll be fine, but let's see him actually coach a few games in this league before we say he makes your team FAR better off than when you had a guy who has been a DC in this league for 20+ years.

Good thing you Aggies have so much money because you're going to have to cut LSU a check when all is said and done.
Yeah we are rich, but why don't you let it go?

The fact that he actually recruits makes him FAR better than Chavis who just hungout in the cafeteria waiting for Raymond or Wilson to throw a recruit on his plate.

you're an idiot. LSU's athletic dept. is loaded. plus, big donors were going to pay all of the buyout. you have previously proved your ignorance and bias so i'm sure the FACTS mean nothing in this instance either.

So why didn't they fire him? The optics of how it would have looked given the condition of your state's budget? The "overwhelming fan support" for the huge A&M victory? Or b/c, as the deposition says, your AD made inquiries and realized he wasn't going to get the big fish he wanted?

Nah, we just love whipping that aggie arse on a regular basis Dog. On the other hand if it comes with an upfront fee, hell we'll take it. GFY

LSU’s plan to fire the coach was nixed, in part, because of budgetary concerns from the school’s president, F. King Alexander, who for some hilarious reason, thinks he has a political future in this state and needed some red meat for the masses.

1. LSU offered Chavis more money than he's getting at A&M, without the Les Miles clause, and he still left for A&M.
And the way it's played out, any betting man would put money on Miles still being at LSU after Sumlin and Chavis are looking for new jobs at the end of this season.

Interesting. LSU wasn't going to spend a single red cent to fire Miles or hire his replacement, but most people here are too obtuse to understand athletics financials.

A little bit of 1 and 3.
