The irony of LSU fans complaining about game locations is that LSU has played in 3 national title games, and all 3 were played in New Orleans.

Actually, no. By next year the ballpark in Nashville will have it's multi level parking garage finished.

And were outnumbered by Ohio State and most likely Alabama. It's not like it was a home game in TS.

So does New Orleans. Should New Orleans stop hosting Super Bowls, NCAA football Championships/Playoffs, Final Fours, WrestleMania, Republican National Conventions?

Comparing travel distances from SEC schools to Memphis and Nashville...

MEMPHIS | NASHVILLE
AL 4hr / 3hr 45min
AU 6 hr / 5 hr
MSU 3 hr / 5 hr
OM 1hr 30 / 4 hr
LSU 6 hr / 9 hr
ARK 5 hr / 8 hr
A&M 9 hr / 12 hr 30 min
UF 11 hr / 9 hr
UGA 7 hr 30 min / 5 hr
UK 6 hr 30 / 4 hr
MO 6 hr / 6 hr 40 min
USC 9 hr 20 / 7 hr
UT 3 hr / 6 hr
VU 3 hr / 0

Except for a few outliers, Memphis is the better travel time. Both have comparable airports. Both have comparable tourist activities. Nashville has Broadway, The Ryman and country honk tonks. Memphis has Beale, The Orpheum, Graceland and blues. Both have the BBQ thing going on. Memphis probably has the better overall bbq and food in general. Memphis has the better baseball park and better location for tourists. I think Memphis is the better area for a permanent host, but just rotate between the two. Nashville can be represtantive of the " SEC East" for a year and Memphis can be a representative of the "SEC West" for a year.

I'd say it's actually a legit argument. Especially considering BBQ. The Nashville bar scene however is much better.

Games that were on a rotating basis. You CAN comprehend a difference there, right?

Who cares about bbq? Yes, Memphis has better bbq. Nashville has a much better and more extensive scene by far.

I heard an organizer say Regions was not an option due to number of seats.

And what I have not heard from you griping negative nellies is that the BB tournament is a bid process. Right now Hoover won the bid. If you asswipes that are griping want it changed then get these other places to outbid Hoover. And for the morons who keep saying Hoover is a dump. Well you dont know dumps then. MOst of the people that go to the games are notthere for the Bar scene. There are a lot of families.

I think the food scenes are fairly comparable. Nashville is certainly not head and shoulders better than Memphis. It isn't like you are comparing Baton Rouge to New Orleans or Columbia to Charleston.

Dallas or Tampa are the only reasonable suggestions to move to.

Regions is a very nice park but it's not big enough to handle the weekend crowds for the SEC Tournament. Technically, they could fit 13-14k in there but that would put a lot of people in the party deck areas in the outfield where you can barely even see the game.

I enjoy going to Barons' games but, in reality, that stadium was built more for the "Thirsty Thursday" crowd than it was for people who really want to watch a baseball game.

Do the Memphis in May events fall on the same dates as the SEC Tournament?

You don't have to sell me on Memphis' virtues. But New Orleans has more "decent" areas than Memphis, and, frankly, more experience and somewhat better infrastructure for these sorts of events.

And, yes, N.O. should either stop hosting Wrestlemania and Republican National Conventions, or force them to work together to create an awesome "Republican Wrestlemania".

Nope. You must not attend the tourney at all or have never been to a Barons game.
