up and coming area. seems like it would be a real long walk from downtown tho. I can't wait to come up there again and go to a game. have many great memories of sounds games back in the day.

It's not a bad walk at all. It is downtown, just on the edge.

Good thing the we don't have to worry about the SEC offices leaving then. Second favorite in Alabama is still well above LSU on the commisioners favorites totem pole.

Other than RV parking, why should it remain in Hoover?
Community has supported it for years. It is absolutely not a dump. It is not the most central but it's central enough. The 3 biggest travelers; rv or not, are Ole Miss, LSU and MSU. Any place other than Hoover would be farther for any of those (remember - not every Ole Miss and MSU fan live in Oxford or Starkville). Can't say for sure, but I would think hotels in downtown Memphis or downtown Nashville would be more expensive than Hoover area.

Auto Zone park would be the best place for it.

So basically you don't want it to move because you don't want to travel.

Wtf is wrong with Hoover? I get not wanting to play there, but the city itself is nice.

No but a lot of Ole Miss and State fans live in Memphis and Nashville.

One good reason is how good the attendance is in Hoover. How many of those fans do you really think traveled across states for a multi day college baseball conference tourney? The vast majority of attendees are locals. Hoover and the surrounding towns have money and are filled with fans and alumni from all the SEC schools. Growing up in Hoover the SEC tournament is a big weekend. A lot of people go and spend a whole day or weekend watching games that their team isn't even involved in. Hoover is also much more family friendly then any downtown stadiums. People take their whole families and make a family weekend out of going to the games. The Hoover Met might not be as nice as parks in Memphis or Nashville but I seriously doubt either of those parks could match the attendance Hoover.

You also pickup the other monster SEC fan base in Arkansas if you move it further west.

Autozone park looks nice but Memphis looks like Detroit

Makes it closer for Ole Miss, State, Tennessee, LSU, Vandy, Arkansas, A&M and Mizzou.

So over half of the conference will have an easier time traveling and it would be in a much nicer stadium than Hoover provides. But nah. Keep it there because of tradishun.

I travel. Cancelled this year but normally, I would leave tomorrow, check into the RV park on Sunday evening and try to stay until Memorial Day. This is not a microeconomics issue (me) but a macro. You do understand the difference, right?

I doubt it. Rich alumni that move to cities to work don't live downtown. They move to suburbs like Hoover. They want to take their whole family to see their alma mater play a baseball game, but they don't want to have to deal with parking downtown and dragging their entire family through a downtown.

I go to the SECT most years. It is definitely time to rotate it out of Hoover.

1. Most fans at those games are NOT local. The local turnout is very poor.

2. The park in Memphis is more SEC centrally located than Nashville or Bham/Hoover.

3. Memphis is definitely a more interesting destination than Hoover. Probably we could stay within walking distance in Memphis while that is not possible in Hoover.

I vote go to Memphis for 5 years or so.

That's just dumb. So, you just go on the weekend?
